El Vons Steakhouse & Oyster Bar es un establecimiento de propiedad local situado en Edmonton que lleva sirviendo la carne de res y el marisco de mejor calidad desde 1988. El restaurante, ideal para todo tipo de clientes, cuenta con un magnífico salón comedor, 3 salones comedor privados, un salón de tono informal con ladrillo visto, una barra de bar de estilo neoyorquino de 9 metros y una barra de ostras. La Happy Hour se organiza de lunes a viernes, de 16:30 a 18:30. El establecimiento sirve el menú completo tanto en el restaurante como en las zonas de la barra de ostras, que suele disponer de 15 variedades de ostras preparadas frente a los comensales por los chefs. Además, hay una carta que comprende 30 vinos servidos en copa centrada en vinos de la Cuenca del Pacífico y Canadá. Se recomienda reservar mesa aunque se aceptan clientes sin reserva. We always enjoy ourselves when visiting Von’s. We love the food. We’ve been served by Allen all 3 times we have been there and his service is excellent. We look forward to our next visit.

Quite disappointed tonight, unfortunately. When I made the reservation Lounge was a selection which I didn't select then asked if I wanted standard or high top seating. I said standard. Also made not that it was a business dinner. Our table was in the lounge and was almost in the front entrance. The hostess told me I should have noted it better on my reservation. No maybe you all need to make sure your question are clear to provide you with the right information. My husband's soup was barely warm. His potatoes were cold, the Happy Hour menu or specials were never e planned.

Enjoyed a dinner as part of the Edmonton Dining Week. So much delicious food at a ridiculously good price. Service was friendly and portions were generous. The soup was delightful and the steak size was amazing. It ended with cheesecake which was a decadent end to a fabulous meal.

We decided to try a new restaurant for downtown dining week and feel like we made the wrong choice. Drinks were really good and so were the scallops. The waiter didn’t offer downtown dining week menu until we asked for it. French onion soup was mediocre and Caesar salad was rusty on the veins. We each ordered the steak option one of us rare and the other medium rare. When I cut into the rare steak (which was difficult even with a steak knife)it was cooked most of the way through. The other one was medium rare. When I told the waiter that mine was not rare he looked at my other party and they said theirs was more pink than mine and offered to trade. Without asking me how I felt he picked up both plates and switched them in front of me stating that the chef must have mixed them up, half of the potatoes were already eaten off of the other plate. I am still in shock about what happened and don’t usually complain but I am still thinking about our experience and would have felt better had I not paid over $200 for the meal. To top it off I visited the ladies room on our way out and had I done that before ordering probably wouldn’t have stayed. There were paper towel pieces all over the floor and when I washed my hands in the sink the drain was plugged and filled up with water. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm and feel there was ample time to address the washroom situation between meal rushes. Very disappointed and would caution anyone that was considering the downtown location.

Sanjay is the BEST. He’s half the reason we get there each time we visit Edmonton. Also- Love the lounge, the food, the atmosphere.

It took 3 hours for 3 courses for 3 people - service incredibly slow, and our party didn’t order anything that required active cooking: cioppino, braised lamb, shank, soups and salads are all items that don’t take much time to get out of the kitchen. The server offered that the kitchen was very busy, but the restaurant was only 75% full. Other service issues were a salad appetizer that they forgot to put in, which we had to ask for even after the other two members of the party had received their bisque, the wrong wine order being put in, and another wine being forgotten about, and proper tools for opening shellfish needing to be requested when the cioppino came out with a whole langostine on top of it. As for the food itself, the lamb and bisque were good, but the bread, lava cake and cheesecake were obviously not house made, just warmed up and plated. The cioppino was a bit of a mess - if someone orders a seafood stew, having to dig around in the stew to break up a langostine is really messy and off putting . The cioppino also had huge nearly whole tomatoes in it, a surprise pile of mashed potatoes (what?), and lacked the characteristic garlic and fennel flavours of a cioppino. A mess of a dish that had more characteristics of a New England style chowder than a traditional cioppino. The value for money was terrible - this experience cost $270.00 - and I see no need to ever return. There are so many better places in this city to spend this amount of money on dinner. Try DOSC or Bündok instead.

Prime rib was re-heated. Fatty and overcooked. Others steaks at our table were definitely not the sizes indicated. Twice baked potatoes were dry and had sat for too long
