We eat at the VA a lot. We used to live down the street from it for several years. It is lovely and they are always thinking of fun things. Tonight for Christmas Eve there were complimentary glasses of champagne for all guests and chocolate lumps of coal for those on the naughty list. The service was really good, especially for a holiday. The appetizers were great - the pretzel and deviled eggs. Our entrees weren’t as good as they usually are. Maybe it was just an off night. Atmosphere is great, drinks good, service solid. Great for a special night out or a fun weeknight dinner.

We were seated downstairs our orders were taken drinks brought. After 48 mintues There was no sign of our waiter no food. The wait staff and bartender were preoccupied with chatting instead of waiting on customers, The manager stopped by our table to see if we had ordered and realized that the kitchen had not even started our order. We left, hungry and had to find another restaurtant. I would not recommend and will not return.

The food was great however there was some sort of server mix up which caused a very long delay and a couple or order mix ups. Management came over to apologize. It felt like a one off mistake and not necessarily some that happens all the time. We would go back again.

We were seated by the entrance and being cold outside it was a rush of cold air too often. Maybe an improvement of adding vestibule like Selina’s did to make that part of dining room more comfortable. Meatloaf burger was excellent but server imputed my order wrong so wrong entree was delivered. My guest went ahead and ate and finished meal by the time my pork chop dinner was delivered. Pork chop was outstanding but the sweet potatoes were just semi warm mush definitely disappointed. Server offered a free dessert and we took carrot cake to go as such a nice gesture. Carrot cake was terrible as dried burnt cake with a cut that resembled a whack off side of cake. Overall not the experience we are used to receiving here.

We enjoyed our green chili wontons and fried goat cheese salad. Different than other choices we have and unique and always delicious.
