Valbella, which since 1992 has been a celebratory place and a regular haunt for the locals who pack it most nights of the week both for its sumptuous food and its astonishing wine cellar, containing 1,450 selections and 16,000 bottles.
Downstairs in the wine cellar is where many people hold private parties of various sizes,and what a splendidly beautiful room it is, done in polished wood, with a lovely fireplace, the tables impeccably set, the stemware thin, the temperature geared to the maintenance of the wine.
Also an outstanding feature of the wine cellar is a heated granite table that can accommodate up to sixteen guests.

    At Valbella, we always have an excellent time and a delicious meal and the service is by far one of the best we have ever experienced--always is. Mike took tremendous care of us--the waitstaff and managers always deliver the highest form of service and hospitality. This time we had the specials for our entrees--sauteed branzino and then a potato encrusted halibut--fresh and beautifully prepared, accompanied by vegetables and roast potatoes--starters were the penne a la vodka and the fiori di zucca. They are always generous portions. Excellent wine/champagne .All in all, a delightful evening all around.

    Main courses, salmon, spaghetti carbonara and seafood fra Diavlo were fair. Chicken parm was good. Appetizers , salad, tuna tartare, crab cake were good. Dessert, apple tart and lava cake were very good. Service was excellent. Very pretty place !

    For an obviously busy New Year's eve we were greeted warmly. Reservation honored and seated quickly. As usual staff was wonderfully accommodating warm and attentive without being intrusive. Top tier wine list I so enjoy getting lost in. Fruitti di Mare and clams oreganata appetizers were wonderful and very flavorful. Dinners of Veal scallopini and Strip steak were cooked absolutely perfectly with very large portions wonderfully sauced without overwhelming the flavors of the meat. Despite the crowd the staff allowed us plenty of time to enjoy conversation, appetizers, dinner and coffee without us ever feeling any sense of pressure. An absolutely wonderful experience for my girlfriend and I. I have always enjoyed this restaurant, albeit on the pricey side, but you will get what you pay for. Very much looking forward to returning.
