In one of the most idyllic settings. This 17th Century building sits above a shallow slope to the Thames and enjoys both a sunny veranda balcony and a pretty paved garden right on the riverside.
Apart from one or two extensions over the years the pub building remains relatively untouched, giving it a traditional pub feel.
Festooned with flowers and plants outside in summer and warmed with log fires in the winter it’s been a very special local in Twickenham for many years.

The pub was packed and maybe the welcome was a little rushed, but once seated everything improved. Good range of drinks, great food and our waiter was really good. We also thought the price for Sunday lunch was really good! Would definitely go again!

As it was a nice day we were able to sit outside which was just fantastic. Good choice on the menu, reasonably priced, as we were eating outside we had to go inside to order and paid as we ate & drank. Very nice ambience, friendly staff. Highly recommend a visit

Friendly staff and great location, especially on a summer evening. The salads we ordered were mediocre, the chickpea portion was very small and they were hard and dry inside. We weren't offered desserts and by the time we requested the menu, it was 9pm and the kitchen had closed! No offer of even basic desserts - ice creams or ready to serve cakes. It felt like the table staff were junior, inexperienced and unsupervised. I'd go again just for drinks in the summer but not for dinner.

I booked some 6 months ago ahead of the rugby final. The Swan made lunch a self serve BBQ. For all the understandable reasons I appreciate but when I booked I had expected table service and more than just a Burger for dinner. They called me while I was on the train to j firm me of the change of plan, which was too late for me to book an alternative. Just recovering from a road accident so I was hoping this goal event for me would feel slightly more special. Lovely venue.

Wonderful situation on the river. Old characterful pub. Doggie friendly. Great food. We walked the dogs from Richmond along the riverside to the pub. Will definitely go again.

Always a good experience at TWS. I maybe should’ve chosen different food, the scampi was a little greasy and not that tasty tbh, it was a tad pricey too. I understand that all pubs are struggling big time with costs but my food was a little underwhelming. A great spot for lunch though, good range of beers and wine and the service was excellent.

rapidly becoming my favourite place to have sunday lunch in west london. Great food; great service; beautiful setting inside and out. love it
