The impressive accolades of Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year and Best Gastropub, are richly deserved for the White Hart. Set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and offers one of the finest foodie dining experiences in the county. Housed in a stunning 15th century chantry, customers can choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall, up high in the minstrel's gallery, in the cosy bar by the fire or on the beautiful patio terrace.
With a passion for provenance, the kitchen sources food from the very best local suppliers and grow much of their own fruit and vegetables. Mark even fishes for his own crayfish and trout from the local reservoir! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - with the signature slow roasted pork belly, with foot long crackling, being a favourite.

Christmas Eve lunch at the White Hart was a delightful experience, brimming with warmth and festivity. We commenced our meal with an array of tempting nibbles: delectable Pancetta and Cheddar croquettes, perfectly crispy fried squid, and a selection of freshly baked breads. Each bite was exquisite, though I must admit to a tinge of disappointment at the absence of the beef dripping butter from the menu. Truth be told, my cardiologist is likely relieved, as that indulgent delight was nothing short of dangerously sublime. For the main course, my wife and son indulged in the renowned Kelmscott pork, complete with crackling and a medley of seasonal vegetables. My wife, in particular, loves this dish, often declaring it ‘divine.’ I opted for the venison accompanied by silky mash, which was equally splendid. The service was impeccable, a testament to the dedication of the staff, and I have no complaints in that regard. Our server, Harry, recognized me from a previous visit, which left me wondering whether that was a testament to his keen memory or a bad reflection on my ‘could do better’ behaviour. Harry stands out as a rare gem among young men these days. He is bright, exceptionally polite, engaging, and articulate. I worry that once he departs for university, the White Hart will feel his absence profoundly. Overall, it was a lovely meal, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to such an enjoyable experience. Merry Christmas White Hart

I have been a diner at The White Hart for almost 20 years - since Mark and Kay arrived. In itself I think that speaks for the consistent quality, ambience and standard of service I have enjoyed over the years. I recommend The White Hart to anyone who is looking for a fantastic dining experience where service and cooking are first class and a warm welcome is assured. The White Hart is my first choice for a celebration or for an experience to impress a fellow guest.

Lovely comforting venue with historical charm. Excellent food menu. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Would be very grateful to visit again in future. Thankyou to all the staff for a wonderful experience and lovely meal.

A really great evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and although we had to move tables ( due to a very loud group at next table) this was dealt with very quickly by management. The White Hart is consistently good and deserves all the awards it receives. We will be back soon

An amazing place to eat, superb food, amazing service. Great good is not cheap these days and it was well worth it. Try and avoid sitting by a window in winter, otherwise it was a lovely evening.

Wonderful atmosphere, log fire, not too loud. The choice was excellent and the food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The service was not invasive but timely and exceptional. Can not wait to return.
