    Overall not impressed with my meal which was their signature dish Surf n Turf..sloppy presentation, like it was thrown together in a hurry and was extremely salty destroying all of the flavors..

    The wait staff were very polite. Our appetizers and wine came promptly. However, the entrees took over an hour to arrive. The waitress didn't acknowledge the delay, didn't apologize for the delay, nor took any actions to make it right. When the lobster bisque arrived, it was clear it had been sitting for a long time because it had a film dried on top. The Mac and cheese was dry and under salted. The asparagus was over cooked. The meal and service were far from worth the price.

    McCall has inherent small town challenges, in particular, AirBNB has made housing unaffordable or not available which has cascading impacts everywhere. The Narrows is expensive, as expensive as any traditional steakhouse, but The Narrows does not live up to the standards expected. We had avoided The Narrows for many years and on a fluke tried it again and was blown away (by the food). Unfortunately, they had to let go of the head chef and a lot of the crew and quality has declined and consistency is lacking. ONE SHINING STAR is Matthew, one of the waiters. This is not to say others are not great but we learned Matthew is the best and we gravitate exclusively to him, when he is there. There are other disappointing aspects as well that all could be solved by oversight - regular and consistent oversight - by a hotel general manager. For example, checking the restaurant before it opens (for things like, well, spider webs and dust on the ceilings and, well, salt and pepper grinders on each table that often contain the same thing, e.g., both are salt or both are pepper and size of the grinder doesn’t seem to mean anything to some staff hence the confusion). The “GM” should also be doing rounds every 30-45 minutes and maybe stopping and asking clients how they are doing and taking meaningful action to improve. It’s not fair for staff or hosts/hostesses to ask those questions and be powerless to act. We shall return but not as frequently as we like all because of these challenges listed above. [Note: We are half-time residents of McCall].

    The location and restaurant is wonderful. The staff was top notch and very attentive. Food was OK but nothing special or memorable.

    Very disappointed with our steaks we eat SRF very often , fat was localized to the edge and too much, 16oz steak was more than 1/2 fat and it was very unappetizing, considering they were $90 each we mentioned to our waiter he explained that it was Kobe but even for Kobe it was too much, a comped dessert for our dissatisfaction would’ve been nice and it wasn’t offered . My Caesar salad was also not good. The dressing was watered down and tasted like nothing. The only flavor in the salad was from the single crouton and the anchovies, desserts were also very subpar, the presentation of the sticky toffee pudding needs a huge improvement Our hamburger at Cutwater was a far better meal. The meal was absolutely not with the near $600 that I spent.

    Brittney was a delight to get to know. The food delicious. To the chef, well done. Ditch the eclair from the menu, terrible. The sommelier was wonder too.

    Our dinner was served lukewarm…steak and side dishes. It seemed to take an a very long time long time to get our entree. We were served the warm slabs for our steak and the slabs were cold before we got our dinner. We enjoy a leisurely dinner but it felt like our entree fell through the cracks. Really not the experience that we expected for almost 300.00 $$ We are locals and have had much better food at the Cutwater.
