The Heritage is one of the many classroom/laboratory facilities operated by the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education at Grand Rapids Community College. The restaurant is staffed by students in the culinary programs and is under the direct supervision of Chef and Dining Room Professors.

During lunch, your meal will be prepared and served by first year students. The meals represent International Cuisine with modern and classical touches. In the evening, The Heritage reopens to feature a relaxed atmosphere, more Continental Cuisine, and our second year students will serve and prepare your meal.

The Secchia Institute for Culinary Education restaurants and kitchens are classroom settings. We take pride in them. Our students prepare our meals daily with the finest seasonally available ingredients including freshly baked artisan bread.

Join us for a limited-time Happy Hour at The Heritage in the Fountain Hill Brewery! Every Monday between Oct. 28th-Nov.18th, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, enjoy a limited appetizer menu, select wines, and student-created beers. Reservations are available online only due to the limited nature of these events. A small number of walk-in bar seats and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't miss your chance to be part of this fun and exclusive evening!

The students are so genuinely happy to be there and excited to show their skills and handiwork. They all seemed fairly knowledgeable and it seemed their instructor had faith in them. Katie and Kimmy are going places. :)

We always enjoy our dining experiences at the Heritage. Our servers are always top notch and answer all our questions. The food is presented in such unique artistry & is always delicious! Our steaks were juicy full of flavor and done to each of our guests requests. The salads were masterpieces! The French Onion soup was like no other with a handmade puff pastry on top! The desserts are outstanding! We shared a bit of each others and they were all incredibly decadent. Such creativity! It’s always fun to engage with the students. We wish them all great success. They are fabulous!

The food looked almost too good to eat. It was, however, very worth eating. Some of the most inventive food I’ve had in a while, esp in GR. The fact that these were students at this level was impressive. They were so eager to make our lunch an incredible experience. I’m so glad I’m going back next week!
