El pub Charlton Arms resulta realmente encantador y ofrece vistas al histórico puente Ludford a pocos minutos a pie del centro de Ludlow. La cocina, dirigida por Stephan Smith, se centra en la cocina británica y ofrece una gran variedad de productos locales. Los magníficos clásicos de pub se combinan a la perfección con platillos muy elaborados. Las cervezas y las sidras locales destacan entre la ecléctica selección de vinos para todos los presupuestos. Para aprovechar al máximo la visita, el Charlton cuenta con nueve dormitorios confortables con baño. El menú de desayuno para todos los gustos incluye desde huevos del valle Clun, panceta curada en el establecimiento y las famosas salchichas de Ludlow, hasta el más exquisito salmón ahumado. Behind the Charlton Arms, parking is available for up to 30 vehicles. In the event of overspill, there is additional parking in town or on the Whitcliffe Common viewpoint, both are a 3-5 minute stroll from the pub.

Ludlow train station is a ten minute walk from the pub, and has firm links to London Paddington, via Newport and Manchester Piccadilly. There is a good local bus service, with several stops in the town.

Booked dog friendly table for Sunday lunch. Great food and service. Never felt rushed even though it was busy. Friendly attentive staff and served with a smile. Lovely location by the river. Would definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area

We were dealt with in a very friendly manner. The menu was small which made us feel confident the food would be of good quality. Our expectations were well met as the food, particularly the duck main, was outstanding. We couldn’t fault the main course at all, it was delicious and beautifully presented.

Three of us dined at 730. The staff were polite, professional and courteous. Both starters were excellent, especially the sxitch egg which is worth a visit alone. The downside was the haddock main course. The batter(gluten free) was disgusting and the fish was very dry and overcooked . Panntone dessert was excellent but sticky toffee pudding was tiny and rather tasteless. Overall we had a good night and would return but the haddock main course needs looking at as it is pretty bad.

Our table of 2 arrived and we’re sat on time even though there were three large parties in. We were served promptly with a smile and never once felt rushed. The pork loin was to die for. Seriously best meal out I’ve had in a long time.

Delicious well presented food. Slow service, we expected a decent interval between courses but on this occasion it seemed a little excessive. A pity because everything else was exceptional. And our overall experience wasn’t spoiled in any way.

We were booked in for lunch at the Charlton Arms during the busy Christmas period. The food was excellent. We had burgers and fish and chips from the lunch menu and the food really was very good indeed. The thing let it down was the brusque and at times rude attitude of our server. It seemed everything was a problem even mentioning that my friend had a nut allergy was taken as an issue rather than something he could easily deal with. A real shame as it let down what was a tasty lunch.in a stunning venue.
