This small renowned restaurant in the heart of Ilkley was founded in 1962. It was the first 2 Michelin Starred restaurant outside of London and for over 60 years has continued to be at the forefront of northern Gastronomy.

The modern British menu and extensive wine cellar offer food lovers an unforgettable experience. The kitchens commitment to the best, freshest ingredients, with an emphasis on locally sourced, fresh ingredients from farmers and local suppliers.

The Box Tree represents a combination between 21st century efficiency and exquisite good taste. Whilst the kitchen boasts the latest equipment, the restaurant features a collection of art and antiques which define the style and luxury for which the Box Tree is famed.

I have been to the Box Tree many times. Yesterday was my best visit. Everything was superb. Plenty of staff working and all well trained. I go to far more Michelin starred restaurants than most people - perhaps 10 a year. Yesterday's lunch with 2 star standard. Let's hope you are properly recognised soon. Many thanks.

A lovely experience for a special occasion. With dietary needs catered for, we really appreciated the attention to detail with both food and service - thank you Box Tree team!

Fabulous time and food, we loved it! However, we didn't particularly like the genre of music that was playing and it was a bit loud.

This was our second visit to The Box Tree and the meal and service were exemplary. Our last visit was two months ago and there was a completely new menu to enjoy, as delicious as the first. Would highly recommend.

Arrived early for our meal. Had a drink in the bar and then were shown to our table on time. Waiters were attentive, friendly and helpful. We had a lunchtime tasting menu bought as a birthday gift. The food was excellent , comprehensively described by the waiters. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered wine by the glass as we felt the choice was better in the more reasonable price ranges. Coffee and petit fours to finish. All in all a lovely treat but not for the faint hearted regarding their wallets. We would love to return but would need to be another special occasion to justify the spend.
