    First time at the barn. Nice atmosphere but it was loud in the bar area on a Monday night. My impression is that the raw oysters were not fresh, like they had been in the frig for several days. My wife has the 8oz filet. She liked it but nothing special. I ordered the aged KS strip steak. No flavor at all and tough. Orders it rare but was served closer to med rare . Our waiter said that their steaks were the top 5% in the country. I buy better steaks at Costco. Mud pie dessert was good. There was nothing about the experience that would make me come back again. Waiter was nice but needs more experience.

    The place is beautifully decorated for Christmas, We were one of the first to be seated after they opened at 4, So the noise was not a problem but by the time we were leaving it was noisy. I always order ribs if it is on the menu, so I ordered ribs. They were by far the worst ribs I have ever had. I couldn't even eat them they were so bad. My loaded baked potato was a small potato with a gob of melted cheese on top. My husbands meal was very good. He ordered the Walleye. My water didn't get refilled. The waiter ask if we would like bread. We said yes. She brought 2 tiny rolls. They were very good with the maple butter. The onion rings we got before dinner were good. I will not be going back. The price I paid for a meal I could not eat was not satisfactory.

    Our server, Phillip Jolly, was friendly, knowledgeable about the evening options, and made wonderful recommendations. The filet was perfectly cooked, and the Brussels sprouts were tender and flavorful.

    We would very much like to see a smaller steak offered as an option on your menu. Many of us who still love steak simply do not eat 8 oz’s a sitting. It would be wonderful if a 4 oz steak was offered. Also sat in last booth facing a storage room of some sort. It would be a great idea to put shutters or a drape of some kind over that window. After all that,we both had the walleye and it was delicious!

    Our actual server was great. The check in process is so off putting. Standing right in front of the hostess stand. The girl just stood there looking at me. Finally I said I have a reservation for 4pm. She responds “Name” Whatever happened to “Hi How May I Help You?” It’s just a rude experience and a bad look. And how are you not ready for customers at 4:00 when your first reservation is at 4:00? They were scrambling at the hostess stand when the first customers arrived.
