Our menu features Rustic Italian Recipes, Thin Crust Pizzas & Fresh Pastas. Stoneground Italian is located downtown in a second-story loft overlooking the architecturally acclaimed Salt Lake City Public Library. Since opening in 2000, owner Bob McCarthy has been cooking up a dining experience that’s warm, welcoming and firmly planted in his Irish-Italian roots. He takes a simple approach to serving delicious food: always fresh and house-made.
The environment at Stoneground is cool and casual; some describe it as a rustic/urban vibe. You’ll feel comfortable dressed as you are. The window tables have mesmerizing views and are ideal for intimate dining occasions. The outdoor deck seats about 40-people and is the go-to spot for your fair weather celebrations. Restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our group of seven sat near the central fireplace. Very cozy. Our group tried many appetizers, including the olives, giardiniera, polenta tots, asparagus and the antipasto board. All were so good. My favorites were the tots and asparagus. The charcuterie board was very good as well, but a little pricey at $25. Another dining companion raved about her burrata salad. The black tagliatelle and Steve's specials were table favorites, as was the steak special. The donuts are so freshly delicious! The tiramisu was good, but not super flavorful. Our waiter was attentive and efficient.

It over delivered. So nice to have home made pasta in a cozy lovely setting. Loved it.

Another great meal at Stoneground. Nono-Gpa pizza was perfect as always. Also tried the panzanella salad which was nicely done. Good Old World wines to pick from.

Great service!. The dishes served were well prepared. A trendy vibe so not a place you would go for a quiet Italian meal however it was enjoyable and worth the modest price.

I would not really describe this as a true Italian restaurant, the menu is more limited but very good The bar is excellent with a big selection
