    Pros: Donan the host. He’s awesome. The pisco drink The Manhattan with the extra carafe Cons: Food was subpar. Salad was terrible. Rockfish was bland. Service (other than Donan) was slow and inattentive. Tables are so close together I feel like I’m chewing their food for them. Overall, this was for a Valentines dinner and have to say this will be the last time I go here. Place has gone downhill. Especially for $360 for 2 people.

    The cocktails are great, as is the food. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Overall a really great experience.

    We love it here. It's my birthday dinner destination. They even tracked down a lone bottle of cider from Bretagne that had been pulled off the menu for us. As good a bowl of mussels as can be found anywhere.

    So disappointed in our meal. St.Jack is in my top 2 of favorite places to dine in Portland. I planned the evening expecting the excellent meal I have received consistently until last night. Everything was excellent until the mains arrived. The steak was so tough I couldn’t chew it. After 2 bites I pushed it aside. My dinner guest then tried it and said she couldn’t eat it because it was so difficult to chew. We also had the duck. Normally our go to. It was under cooked, almost raw. I’ve never sent food back in a fine dinning establishment . We decided to just box it to go and have cheese and crackers when we got home. My dogs had a $200. Meal this morning. I’m going to tell myself it was an off night for the kitchen.

    We ordered the small plates and shared them and also each got a tomato soup, which was delicious. There was a great variety in the small plates and they were all tasty, including the grilled delicata squash. The wine list is well curated. We had a lovely evening and were not rushed.

    An absolutely exceptional dining experience! Since retiring to the Oregon coast we only make it in town for dinner once a month and St. Jack was a wonderful choice. GREAT SERVICE! We enjoyed a variety of starters, steak frites and the delicious Veal Stew special. Delicious and delightful!!

    We celebrated our anniversary last night and had a wonderful evening! Our service was fabulous, we were greeted with a glass of bubbly, fantastic menu recommendations and some of the best food we have ever tasted. This was not our first time to St. Jack but definitely our best! Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our evening memorable.
