Disappointing Christmas Dinner Experience at Square 1682 We were in town for a couple of days over the holidays and had pre-booked Square 1682 for Christmas dinner, enticed by the promise of a festive three-course pre-fixe menu. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we hoped for. When it came time to order, we were informed that half of the menu options were sold out — two out of the four Christmas dinner entrées and all but one dessert choice. This was shocking, considering the event was prepaid and pre-booked. While the manager did offer to refund our meals, we didn’t come for compensation — we came for a lovely Christmas dinner experience, which was completely lacking. The food we did end up with was lackluster. Risotto as a replacement entrée for a holiday meal felt uninspired, and the quality didn’t redeem it. Even the "hot rolls" were disappointing — a quartered kaiser bun, warmed and dry. The lack of professionalism from the staff added to the disappointment. By 9 p.m., the kitchen and wait staff were openly counting down the minutes until they could leave, creating a rushed and uninviting atmosphere. It was anything but festive and left us feeling let down on what should have been a special evening. I cannot recommend Square 1682 based on this experience. It failed to deliver on its promises and certainly didn’t provide the warm, celebratory Christmas meal we anticipated.

We went to Squarer 1682 for Christmas dinner. On this day, restaurants in hotels are the major choices. Square 1682 did well with the opportunity. The food was good - Red Snapper and Prime rib. The service was friendly and as attentive as a full house allows/ The wait staff worked as a team and deli

One of my favorite places to eat in Philadelphia! The food is creative and delicious, the drinks are always wonderful…and the staff welcoming. I’ve been staying at the Kimpton Palomar often for the past two years and the restaurant never fails to put a smile on my face.

Our visit to Square 1682 on Sunday was very disappointing. Despite having a reservation and being seated promptly, the service was incredibly slow. Our server took orders from tables that arrived after us and didn’t get to us for a long time. When our drinks finally came, they were incorrect. We eventually left and found much better service at Marathon Grill down the block. Unfortunately, this experience left us unwilling to return.

The seating was a bit chaotic. The hostess was very nice but clearly a bit overwhelmed and forgot about seating us after asking us to go wait in the hotel lobby while they reset our table. Our order was taken pretty quickly but the wrong item was chosen for my meal (a different burger than I ordered). They did try to accommodate with a discount since it took over 10-15 minutes to have the right item brought out. I ordered a drink that never came as well but at least it was not on the bill. Service at the end slowed significantly and it took a while to get the bill so that we could get out of there.

The food was delicious and staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostess came over to check on how we were liking to food - particularly the octopus was delicious. And the manager Amex over and brought my daughter a complimentary cornbread (yummy) as my meal came out before hers. Would definitely go again.
