   Poor service. Overpriced- even when compared to other touristy restaurants nearby. Extremely loud. Only bright spot for us was the Butter fish.

   Our server was amazing. We loved him and he provided top notch customer service. We were lucky to have had him two years in a row. I apologize but I cannot remember his name. He is a waiter and he also bartends. The food was delicious. Our only issue was screaming child but we realize there is not much that the staff can do about that!!! We highly recommend Roy's.

   Roy’s is always great. Scott, the manager greeted us as we came in. We had had a birthday dinner a few days previously. Julian, our waiter, was animated as before. Apps and wine was our choice this night. Everything was as expected. Perfect! This is our go to for fine or casual dining on the Big Island.

   Our experience was likely jaded by the poor service. We arrived and waited 10 minutes to be asked for drinks. After looking at the menu, we ordered and waited another 20+ minutes for our salads to arrive. We needed to ask another waiter to see about refreshing our drinks. We waited another 40 minutes for our meals to arrive even though several other tables that arrived after us were served both salads and dinner. We noticed several other tables were told about specials and dessert options that needed to be ordered at the same time as dinner. Definitely not very good wait service.

   Seated 15 min after our reservation time. Another 10 min until our waitress came by. Ordered all our food and drinks immediately. Dinner came out before any sodas or bar drinks. Immediately asked if we’d like dessert when our food arrived. Waitress was just flustered the whole time, the few instances we saw her. For a restaurant at such a high price point, a calmer more professional experience was expected.

    I was celebrating my birthday and they brought me a dessert a separate dessert plus the one that I chose from the menu instead of providing the one I chose on the house. They did not wish me a happy birthday or sing. I had to ask our server to bring a fresh coke, etc. they were scarce; poor service.
