We shared the monkfish Wellington special and it was sublime. It could have done with a tiny bit less salt, but otherwise it was perfection, the flavours of the vermouth, the nicely seasoned pomme purée and the jus went so well together and we felt the concept of a non-beef Wellington was exciting and bold. And it worked!! Paired it with a very nice Chenin blanc. Our antipodean waitress was quirky and charming and service was excellent. A relaxed environment but an upmarket one too. Brilliant all round and worth every penny. We were just a table of 3, but can tell had it would also be great for bigger parties and special events. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and looked after us really beautifully. The cocktails were great - I can thoroughly recommend the Chai Espresso Martini. The food was really delicious and interesting and we had two delicious little complimentary courses - a mango shot and a fudge like chocolate treat. The restaurant itself is very stylishly designed. The food and service never disappoint. I had the buffalo chicken wings to start which were a great sized portion and lovely and spicy.
