Was really looking forward to this reservation as it was a really special occasion for us and we had travelled from the UK to be in Paris for NYE to surprise my brother in law. When we arrived on NYE, we were first told we didn’t have a reservation and then when we showed them this booking, were sat on a table which was clearly not a dining table which felt a bit strange and like we were trying to be made to feel unwelcome. A menu was brought to us, and before saying anything else, the server pointed to the ‘€200 pp’ notice at the top. This price a TOTAL surprise to us, and when we asked if there was the usual menu which we’d seen online, we were told there was only one menu as it was NYE. We had not been informed that this was the case prior to our booking and I had received multiple emails in the run up to the booking which would have been a perfect time to mention it surely? Nothing had mentioned it on their website either. Online in other reviews it states that the usual dining experience is around €50pp and had we have been informed that it was €200 each on NYE, we wouldn’t have booked it and wasted our time. Just seemed like they didn’t want us in the restaurant and clearly didn’t have space/had overbooked. Can’t comment on the food as we left before we ate, only then to have to find somewhere else to eat at 7pm on NYE (nightmare!) Luckily, after wandering for a while we eventually found a lovely restaurant which was a quarter of the price and incredible food and service. So glad we didn’t dine at Yacatan after this rude reception. Although the interior looked incredible and I’m sure the food is great (should be for this price!), the vibe was cold and obnoxious. Not the warm, hospitable atmosphere we’d received every other place we’d visited in Paris. So disappointing! Definitely check before you dine so you aren’t caught out like we were.

The ladies who check you in are prejudice. I have no words. Horrible experience, horrible!
