The White Lion Hankelow, a beautiful Cheshire country pub filled with generous stocks of Cheshire craft ales, a tip top wine menu and a cocktail list featuring classics and seasonally inspired creations.

When it comes to food we only use the best local and seasonal produce, our menu showcases our
chef’s passion for refined and elegant pub classics mixed with contemporary flavours and techniques.

With a mixture of seating inside ranging from intimate nooks, to warm and cosey snugs by the fire and stunning private dining rooms, to an expansive outside space perfect for catching the sun with an ice cold drink.

It was the first time we had been seated in the section closest to the car park and we found it perfectly fine, having been satisfied wherever we'd previously been seated. There were four of us, we were all happy with our choices and they lived up to expectations when they arrived. The service was attentive, though we had to go up to the bar ourselves when we were ready to pay.

What a gem! This restaurant not only ticked every box but wrapped it up with a big, friendly bow. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like old friends—think warm smiles and genuine chats that are rare these days. The food? Outstanding! Each dish was a little masterpiece, bursting with flavour, and the portions were generous enough to make even the hungriest diners happy. The best part? The bill was the nicest surprise of all. I’d almost brought out my calculator, expecting a hefty price tag, but this place gives you gourmet quality without the scary maths. Great food, fabulous value, and a team who clearly love what they do—what more could you ask for?

Wow Tracy, thank you so much for this review. I have to say as the Operations Director you actually bought a little tear to my eye. The hospitality industry is tougher than I have ever known it and we are always pushing and striving to be the best we can be but it is 100% reliant on the people you have around you and their passion to deliver - your review pushes us on, knowing that we are achieving our goals. The Sunday lunch veg and Yorkshire pudding were very nice but the lamb was terrible

Beautiful food, excellent service, friendly staff. Loved that we weren't rushed away from our table even though we did stay longer than expected
