White Dog Cafe's newest location brings local, seasonal, and sustainable dining to Chester County. The original Vickers Tavern has been completely renovated, and the White Dog Cafe has preserved the building's history while adding chic farmhouse aesthetics and dog-themed decor. The restaurant features seven distinct dining rooms, each with its own unique personality and design. In addition, there is an expansive outdoor patio with a gas fireplace and retractable cover. The open Barn room includes a large oval bar, a sitting area by an open fireplace, and doors leading to the outdoor potting shed. The menu includes several White Dog staples, such as Kennett Square Mushroom Soup, Double Cheddar Burger, Lamb Bolognese, Truffle Fries, and house-made bread baskets from local farms, alongside new additions.

First time at the restaurant. We just happened upon it while driving. We enjoyed it very much and love the decor, food and service. Planning on bringing family back soon.

Beautiful, festive place! We had a table in the enclosed outdoor space which was plenty warm with the space heaters. Awesome service from Colby and all of the staff was very attentive and kind. We had the trout, meatloaf and salmon, all excellent. Maryland crab dip app was great too.

Food was excellent, and our server was really good and I was thrilled that they didn’t give us a hard time about having two separate checks for our table. That was an issue in the past and one thing that was making us hesitant to return, but all was good. It’s a fun place to have a meal and a drink and enjoy company of friends and family

The experience at the bar was not good, it was not crowded when I arrived but I had to wait 10 minutes for a drink even though there were 3 bartenders, when my friend’s arrived we waited another 15 minutes for their drinks, when I requested the check, 2 times, the young lady who had just came on shift had a bit of an attitude, so no tip. When we sat down at the table for dinner it was a totally different experience, our server grace was fantastic (5 star); the food and service were excellent.

Definitely a special occasion kind of place. Food was very good but prices are high. Service was slow but good.

Food was just ok. Fish was good but Roasted vegetables were extremely undercooked. Also we had a late reservation (8:30) and felt they rushed us to order.

Our server Kaitlin was excellent. The food was delicious. The nonsense we went through to be seated was absolutely ridiculous. We arrived at 6:45 PM for a 7:15 PM reservation. We were told we may be seated 15 minutes early and to consider having a drink at the bar. At 7:15, we were told our table was being set. At 7:30, we were told they thought we didn't want to be seated because we were having a drink at the bar and we were to come to the front desk when we wanted to be seated. We did at 7:15 PM. Then, we were told we'd be seat momentarily. Finally, we were seated at 7:45 PM.... after approximately 75 people were seated ahead of us. By then, there were multiple empty tables througout the restaurant. Maybe the issue is you shouldn't have 5 hostesses greeting peopple when one has no idea what the other is doing and or telling the customers. Merry Christmas Eve! Our last time dining at The White Dog in Chester Springs for sure!!
