Westerns Laundry is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant focusing on seafood & natural wines. The restaurant is located in the Islington/Highbury neighbourhood of North London. It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room. Westerns Laundry has won numerous awards for excellence and originality and is a firm favourite on the London dining scene.

  • An evening in the Jura

    A trip to the Jura with a menu from and inspired by the flavours of the region. Some highlights of the menu include Mousseline and Sauce Nantua, Quail in Macvin and Tete de Veau - there will of course be Comte and Vin Jaune to round things off. The wines of the Jura - flinty, mineral Chardonnay and Savagnin and lithe, elegant Trousseau and Poulsard - have become increasingly sought after in recent years and it has become the norm for us to receive only a single bottle from certain winemakers, if anything at all! We have excavated a rich selection from our cellars of the region’s great winemakers and are pleased to be able to pour examples from the likes of Domaine Miroirs, Ganevat, Puffeney and more by the glass.

    The food was delicious (especially the cheese beignets with pickled walnuts, the sauce was to die for! And the rhubarb pavlova was divine). We celebrated a birthday and they did their best to accomodate special requests - offered to write a birthday message on the table, which was a very nice gesture! The restaurant was packed and the noise level extremely high, and the lighting in the toilets too dim, but those are minor points of criticism. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious shared plates dining experience.

    Gorgeous and romantic interior bustling with large, shared tables. They cleverly sat us at the corner of a big square table for 8 (four couples). It was amazingly intimate despite the common table - we didn’t feel overhead, and it felt friendly to engage just a bit with our neighbours. The food and the wine was gorgeous. Really interesting veggie options (chestnut ravioli was a particular gem). The service was attentive, but when we asked for one of each of the desserts we thought we were getting two and three came, which felt like it was obviously deserving of a clarification from our waitress, as we were only two people. Overall £100 per head - which we considered a bit of a splurge but we knew what we were getting into. And we felt like the experience lived up to our expectations based on the excellent ratings it gets. Highly recommend!

    Excellent menu for both food and wine. Really enjoyed the interesting combination of flavours. Each dish was full of flavour with a request for extra bread to soak up the juices. A minor criticism would be service was a little rushed under the circumstances. A minor quibble given the quality of the meal.

    Great experience all round but the service was exceptional!! The menu changes daily, but I think there are always lots of plant based options. If the Jerusalem artichoke, onion & raclette dish is on the menu, this is a fantastic riff on traditional Swiss raclette! Loved the concept of shared tables, plates to share, good and reasonably priced wine list.

    A nice meal in a very crowded restaurant. Enjoyable but glad I hadn’t booked a romantic dinner!!
