Dine in our highly acclaimed restaurant, The Dining Room which has stunning views over the Yorkshire Dales or take advantage of The Gun Room with its cosy snug ambience and open inglenook fireplace. Or enjoy Private Dinning for parties up to 18 people in The Glass House. We pride ourselves in serving a mouth-watering selection of dishes, most with locally sourced Yorkshire ingredients.

We also have a specials board to showcase the talent and passion of our chefs who also delight locals and guests with their themed culinary evenings serving dishes such as fresh Seafood and Prosecco. We serve the same menu’s throughout all our dining rooms and outside on our decking area and welcome you to join us for special occasions such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

We recently moved to a small hamlet behind Dacre Banks, and naturally, the Wellington Inn (or “Welly,” as we call it) became our local pub. From the moment you walk through the doors, you get a proper good Yorkshire pub feeling. The pub is split (to my knowledge) into four sections. To the left, you have the bar restaurant; behind that, the main restaurant; to the far right, the tap room; and I believe the accommodation is very far left/upstairs. I’ve been maybe 15 times since moving here and on two occasions to the tap room only for a drink with my good friend. The other times have been for meals in both the main and bar restaurants, either just with my partner or with two to three friends. The food, from starter to dessert (not forgetting the specials that regularly change), is quite possibly the best homely, hearty pub food I’ve had in my life! I have always been proud of the way I cook belly pork, but their belly pork puts mine to shame! There is a vast range of cold, hot, soft, and alcoholic drinks, but the Cruzcampo just hits the sweet spot for me! They also have local ales and IPAs available. Not forgetting the main element—the staff. Every single member of staff is more than happy to help, always with a smile on their face! It really does make a difference to your experience when the staff interact so well with their customers. The pub has a great atmosphere, and the acoustics are excellent—you can have a proper conversation at a normal volume without feeling like every word you say can be heard by all, and the same goes the other way. I don’t usually make a note of this, but I feel it’s important to mention that my partner and I are a same-sex couple, and the staff have always made us feel comfortable and welcome, with no judgment. We are very fortunate to call the Welly our local! Be warned: If cheesecake is on the specials menu, it won’t be there for long! 😋

The Wellington is lovely country pub and restaurant. The food is excellent as are the staff who are very friendly and accommodating. The choice of menu is extensive and cooked to order.

Gem of a Pub, generous portions of good quality food, very friendly welcome, nice and quiet and cosy, helpfull staff and very attentive. Perfect 👍

The food was really good quality and tasty. Our visit was on a quiet night, but the ambience was great and the staff were really friendly. I will definitely go back and totally recommend it

We have loved visiting the Wellington frequently whilst staying in the area for a month. The team are friendly and welcoming, great service with a smile. We love the variety of food and the quality and quantity is great. Great wood fire pizza oven too. Also a great specials board. Atmosphere was always buzzing with lovely open fires. Good beers and wines and fab to enjoy music on occasions. Darley is very lucky to have such a thriving local pub. Thanks for having us, several times 💞
