Established in 1997 Waraji has been offering an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi & authentic Japanese cuisine. We also feature a unique selection of Japanese microbrewery rice-based beers. Our sushi menu includes the highest quality sushi and sashimi and a wide variety of specialty house rolls (Scary Jerry, The Waraji, Hinata, and The Sweet Dragon just to name a few) Our authentic kitchen offers a full menu of tempura, teriyaki grilled items, nabeyaki udon, shabu shabu hotpot, A5 wagyu, ishiyaki. Chef Masa, with over 30 years of sushi experience, invites you to join him and his staff for a true taste of Japan.

Waraji recently renovated and added an Izakaya Bar/Lounge carrying the largest Sake and Japanese Whiskey selection in the Carolinas, along with many beers on Tap including Japanese Beers like Kyoto Bakushu Matcha (Green) IPA only served exclusively here at Waraji. Also, we carry Japanese Beers in Bottles and Cans like Orion, Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi, and Echigo Koshihikari

The quality of the food is amazing and most everything on the menu is a great deal compared to other places in the area. However, I do think the service is lacking. The hostess was rude on the phone and our server barely checked in on us. We were also celebrating an anniversary. If you don't care about being taken care of or want to be left alone this is the spot for you. The owner is very nice though and helps out her staff.
