“Victualler” is a Wine Bar, Shop and Restaurant in East London area of Wapping. Since opening in 2012, “Victualler” has quickly established itself as a leading authority in on-and-off trade of organic, biodynamic and natural wines from all over the world. As wine lovers and foodies we understand that only top quality seasonal food will match our wines.
The Restaurant boasts seasonal Slow Food to match the extensive wine selection. All of our food is created and cooked by talented French chef Albin de Lariviere.
Albin reaches out to local farmers to source the produce and has established long-term relationship with our suppliers, as we appreciate the ingredients first. A great addition to a short but constantly changing menu is our sourdough bread, which is baked on the premises, fresh oysters, shucked on the weekend, small batch farmers’ cheeses and charcuterie.

I was a bit disappointed by this place - its focus is supposed to be wine, but the person serving us couldn't answer (or couldn't be bothered to answer) even the most basic question about the wines on the menu! It was also disappointing to get a very small piece of one kind of cheese with a couple of thin toasts as a 'cheese plate'. On the positive side, the short (two main dish) hot food menu is a great idea, and the food was tasty. Maybe I hit the place on a bad night - but I'm not sure I'd go back in a hurry.

Menu small and changes weekly for seasonal produce. We shared the baked Mont D'or cheese on warm garlicky potatoes paired with a nice red wine. Delicious!

This was my 3rd visit and it was just as lovely as the 1st & 2nd. This time we brought my little mini dachshund for the trip. The staff was so friendly and we loved being able to enjoy an incredible meal/wine and be able to have our little guy snuggled at our feet. Attentive service whilst still leaving you to feel private/relaxed. Excellent wines. Menu is limited but has excellent variety and is well executed. To me, that is always a sign of a great place to eat. We will definitely be back.

Small but good food menu and great selection of wines. Service as always was very good with plenty of advice on what wines to try and different options based on what we liked.

Victualler is a cool place and the bitings selection is really good - cheese plate and meat platter. But the mains were poor - salad nicoise had old potatoes and no tuna, carbonara was very small portion. This is a great wine bar and nibbles spot.

Amazing wine and food in Wapping We love this local restaurant and wine bar in Wapping. It is some of the best food we've eaten in London, thanks to a very talented young French chef. Seasonal menu with fresh products and great organic wines. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Wapping.

A lovely wine bar with a speciality of small producers, the food was carefully orchestrated to accompany the wine but to be honest poorly prepared and presented, but if you think wine first food as a side dish the place is good. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable about their wines.

Great spot in a funky quiet neighborhood. A real hidden gem. The head chef, Albin, is excellent and takes a real personal approach to ensuring customer satisfaction, well beyond assembling a creative and delicious menu. The wine selection is fantastic and the guidance for choosing the wine suitable for your meal and personal preferences is par excellence. The sommelier, Richard, is fantastic and his ability to match wine with the drinker and the situation is uncanny. I've enjoyed two visits to The Victualler now and each time has exceeded expectations. I will be back and am already spreading the word.

Had a quiet dinner catch up with friends, great atmosphere, fantastic service and sublime food. This is a local restaurant, and a true hidden gem. Will definitely return! They are well known for their Sunday roasts, but cone early as they will sell out.
