The restaurant is in a beautiful space. The seating was comfortable, our waitress attentive but not intrusive. The food was fabulous. We both started with an excellent cup of crab chowder. My entree was the scallops in a stew base. I loved it and would definitely recommend. My husband had two small plates instead of an entree, their version of a wedge salad and an Ahi Tuna Tostada. He liked both. We shared a chocolate dessert that was awesome. The only caution is a high noise level. It did not impair our enjoyment but we did lean in to speak across the table. All in all, an enjoyable evening.

The cocktail menu is artfully crafted. I wished to have more wines by the glass as an option. The small plates, sides, salads, and soups are the best value. The dinners were lackluster and didn’t match the expense. The service and accommodation were some of the best I’ve had in the city. I will come back for the service and happy hour.

Our server, Emma, was outstanding. Made our dining experience one of the very best we've had. This was our first time there and will come back and ask for Emma. Also, the food is exceptional.

We came to Verbena for my daughter’s 21st birthday. From start to finish it was a lovely evening. The staff was amazing, and incredibly attentive. They made the evening even more special. Tara, the wine and bar director gave fabulous suggestions and had champagne flowing for us when we arrived. Verbena is the warmest most beautiful restaurant in Kansas City, and the food and drinks are top notch. If you want an intimate dining experience, or a large group, Verbena can easily accommodate. ♥️

I have been to Verbena many times since it opened. This last visit was possibly the best visit we have experienced which would indicate the staff and management are performing at top notch. We were entertaining guests from Dallas who treat us to the loveliest, high end restaurants in their city. We wanted to reciprocate the hospitality. Verbena did not disappoint! The atmosphere is always delightful. The food was exceptional with a few new, autumn dishes to enjoy. The drinks and service were also impressive. A wonderful night and a great representation of Kansas City!
