Vela Bar y Cocina offers a delightful dining experience with a menu that highlights fresh and flavorful dishes. The Hamachi Ceviche was a refreshing and light start to the evening, setting the tone for the meal. The Taco Gobernador stood out with its delicious blend of flavors, while the Pulpo a la Parilla brought a unique and enjoyable twist to the table. The Pescado Entero was fresh and flavorful, providing a satisfying conclusion to the dinner. The ambiance is undeniably beautiful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, the interior shows signs of wear, with noticeable food and drink stains on the walls at table level, hinting at the need for better maintenance. Service was friendly and helpful, especially with food and drink recommendations. Yet, attention to detail was lacking—spilled food or drink on the table wasn’t promptly addressed, which slightly detracted from the overall experience.

We went for bottomless brunch and the mimosas with the different juice options were so good. The guava ended up being my favorite. The restaurant is cozy and has a great vibe. The service was absolutely amazing! We had the pastor tacos, burger and burrito and everything was so good.

Our server was great, he lost his voice yelling over the music. He checked in often to make sure we were doing well. We ordered the tuna tostada, taco pastor and quinoa salad. The only dish I would get again was the salad, it was delicious and interesting. The tuna was tough and not eatable. The dorada (white fish) was delicious. Great flavors. The short rib was also beautiful and tastee. Overall a great vibe, great service, but food is a B.

My husband and I went to Vela for our anniversary and had a great time! The ambience was great, the food delicious and the service extraordinary. They got us 2 glasses of champagne and a card signed by all the staff to end our night! Great experience!

Our second time in and it was just as great as the first time around. Amazing service, very attentive and was knowledgeable on the menu as well. Drinks were priced appropriately and well balanced. This time around we ordered entrees and was surprised by the size. I found my new Happy Hour spot 😊

We had such an amazing experience at brunch. Our server was so kind and gave us great recommendations. I wish I remembered his name, but we went before noon on a Sunday! Food was amazing and drinks were great too. We can’t wait to come back for dinner!

The staff was nice. The menu is limited. The food was “meh.” With no real salad offering, I ordered an appetizer and main. I was surprised and displeased that both arrived at the same time. The empanadas were bland and the accompanying sauce did little to change that. The short ribs were a little better. I expected more and different flavors from a Mexican cuisine.

Great vibe, excellent food and service, decent cocktails. DJ plays great tunes and not overwhelming sound. A little on the pricey side but in line with the area. Recommend for a date.
