V Wine Salon is the epitome of the French wine bar experience.

Located in a beautiful heritage-listed building in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, cosy seats, high ceilings and modern decor reminiscent of Paris-by-night are paired with friendly, knowledgeable and professional service.

Co-founder and director Vianney Establet was born in prime Bordeaux terroir with wine in his veins, coming from a family of winemakers going back five generations, and honed his craft as a sommelier for over a decade in some of the finest restaurants and private members clubs around the world.

We pride ourselves on our eclectic boutique wine list (awarded two glasses by Australia's Wine List of the Year Awards), craft beers, cocktails and an impressive selection of gourmet cheeses and other French nibbles (see menu) making V the perfect venue for catching up with friends, dates, and after-work drinks. Wine to take home is also available from our retail boutique.

Our group didn’t eat on this occasion, but we were all very impressed and swore that we’d return on a regular basis. Immediately on entering the venue had a very cool, relaxed atmosphere. The decor was classy without being pretentious. The staff/owners are attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to the wines, some of which we’d never heard of before, and the wines……..wow! For very reasonably priced wines, they were mind-blowingly good. Can’t wait to go back again

Lovely find for a mid-week drink. Staff were friendly and engaging and music gave a chilled vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed a chilled rosé on a warm evening, accompanied by a delicious cheese plate. Will certainly return to sample more from the extensive wine list.

This was third visit to the Salon and no less enjoyable. The Salon has very fine selection of wines on the menu with a perfect pairing of food on offer to have while enjoying a glass or three. It is a ‘must visit’ spot for me on every visit to Melbourne.

My friend and I had the most divine experience! Fantastic service coupled by incredible wine and platters. Highly recommend for anyone craving a delish fromage + bubbles moment!!

On our last day in Melbourne we discovered the V Wine Salon. In a beautiful old building, this is the quintessential wine bar. There is a lovely selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle, some nice beers and cocktails too. To go with the wine there is cheese, charcuterie and some very tasty "tarts" hailing from the Alsace region. One hour ran into about 5 and we tasted our way through a lovely selection of wines (mostly suggested by Vianney our host). If you combine lovely food and wine with comfortable surroundings and great hosts you have the recipe for success. It's on our list for all future Melbourne visits. We look forward to a pop up in Sydney!! Thanks again for a lovely night.

I recently visited V Wine Salon and had an exceptional experience. The staff were amazing, offering fantastic recommendations for wines that perfectly suited our tastes. Good selection of French, Italian and Australian wine. Excellent charcuterie and cheese! A very pleasant location for an early evening drink with friends or work colleagues.

We had the 3 wine taste selection. The wines were nice (French local) only downfall is the advertised price of $30 per person but being charged $40. The lighting could have been a bit more intimate also. A bit bright
