Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

Outstanding food, service, and just wish they had more tables shaded outside. We had to eat indoors and it was quite noisy.

Had a great dinner, got a little windy and chilly for my gf, and we were able to move inside, which was still nice. Nick was great and gave knowledgeable recommendations. Crab cakes and pot stickers were a great start, and Ahi special & Mahi entrees with the scallops to share. It was awesome!

I have been to Ulu previously last summer, twice in one week. So I made a reservation for this trip on Valentines night. Our waiter was very good (James) my disappointment was I ordered the filet to be cooked to medium , but as the server delivered it he said medium rare. He whisked my plate to the kitchen and I got to sit and watch my husband eat his entree. A good 15 minutes later my meal was redelivered. Not very fun to have staggered dining it took the bloom off the rose so to speak.

We had a Valentines dinner and it was wonderful. I had the yellow fin tuna feature and my wife had the fresh catch mahi mahi. Both were perfectly cooked and paired with delicious sides. We also enjoyed the coconut shrimp appetizer which was totally unique, not fried like most. Exceptional. We rarely order dessert, however, our waiter offered their peppered pineapple ring in a sweet sauce that balances the fresh ground pepper, topped with yummy vanilla bean ice cream. Totally worth it.

Very similar to the famous Merriman’s in Napili (run by the same company) . Food is fresh and delicious and like Merriman’s expensive. Most the seating is outdoors and some of the tables quite exposed to the sun and wind. My only complaint really is the service is not up to Merriman’s standards (friendly but a bit slower with less experienced staff). Make sure you park at the Westin as they only validate its parking and not the Whaler’s mall lot. This is a great alternative to Leilani’s or Hulu grill often less wait time.

Macadamia crusted mahi-mahi was wonderful. Scallops were marvelous as before. The mashed potatoes were to die for.

We had a wonderful experience at Ulu last night. Sat outside at a beautiful table by the ocean. We shared a Ceasar salad (it was definitely shareable) and 2 of the Mac nut Mahi Mahi. They were both very good. We did have better Mahi preparations at other restaurants but it was definitely good. Jordan was our server and very attentive.
