Ula is a beautiful European Mediterranean restaurant and tapas bar in San Francisco. Sip your martini or quality wine with a seafood-centric menu that has a focus on raw, roasted, and grilled fish and various roasted and grilled meats, pasta, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan selections. The restaurant is maximalist art deco with fixtures that depict jellyfish, oysters, and grand maritime vessels. Just a hop from Union Square, the delightfully vintage dining room begs to be paired with a nostalgic trolley ride and a stroll through the heart of the city. Pedimos atención con opciones gluten free y el primer plato que trajeron estaba contaminado con gluten.. muy poco cuidado en las opciones para alérgicos.. el servicio algo lento además

La comida deliciosa, el lugar muy ameno y agradable, lo elegimos para cenar en noche buena hubo algunos inconveniente pero le comentamos al encargado y enseguida lo resolvió nos dieron una sinceras disculpas y solucionaron todo. Ampliamente recomendado. Se nota la calidad del personal y del servicio. Sin duda cuando volvamos a San Francisco regresamos aquí.

We went for Thanksgiving and ordered the prefix menu. Our waitress made a mistake and put in for all our food to come at once which was a nightmare. When I asked what happened and why our bread and olives never arrived and why we got one salad, one main dish and all the appetizers she got offended because I guess it was her mistake and she didn't want to face it. The owner came to our table and informed us we made her cry and how could he fix our situation. We ended up with a new waiter who did not do what we asked and so somehow instead of all new salads and soups which never arrived we got our main courses ice cold and they packed our soup to go. One member of our table didn't get his food until after we all got ours, so that was uncomfortable as we all wanted to break bread together. Even though out main dishes had been sitting and were cold. The food was fantastic. My fillet of beef was cooked to perfection. My sister-in-law ordered the turkey and mashed potatoes and stuffing and she said it was pretty good. The vegetarian choices were great and the vegetarian food was good. My niece ordered the salmon and it was raw. The Tapas were amazing. Favorites included the beet salad, garlic shrimp, truffle fries minus the truffles and bruschetta. We never got the soup so I can't say how it tasted. Overall the kitchen and wait staff need to work on timing better. Food was fantastic and even though service was tricky we all agreed we'd eat here again just maybe not for Thanksgiving. We were so full we took our dessert to go!!

So happy to find this restaurant. It’s great place to dine especially if you’ll be attending a show at the SF Playhouse. The decorations are superb along w the food and service!

The decor inside the restaurant was breathtaking, and the service was above and beyond. The food was good, but the portions were small, especially since it was expensive. I did expect more than four ravioli, for example.
