In a stunning Cornish Atlantic setting, just a mile from St Ives, Ugly Butterfly restaurant and bar offers spectacular views across one of the worlds most beautiful coasts, Carbis Bay. Ugly Butterfly showcases chef Adam Handling’s passion for converting locally-sourced, quality ingredients into beautifully-presented dishes, packed full of flavour. Offering an all-day dining experience, the Ugly Butterfly bar uses trims and offcuts from the ingredients used in the restaurant to create delicious drinks and bar snacks. This bar menu will illustrate that there is no such thing as food waste, much in the same way that there is no such thing as an Ugly Butterfly.

Fantastically attentive staff, and beautiful venue. We even watched dolphins in the bay whilst we ate. Food was amazing and the staff explained the unique elements each course. Highly enjoyable afternoon.

Fabulous afternoon tea, a touch of luxury with the most perfect view of the sea. With an abundance of different flavours and such interesting stories behind them, the staff are fabulous too, what a treat all round!

The tasting menu featured exciting and delicious local produce and all the staff were informative, engaging and charming. Wine pairing was also a great success, making it a night to remember. Highly recommend and will definitely go back when we next visit Carbis Bay.

The food is always spectacular but New Years Eve was a whole nother level. So happy we decided to ring in the new year at this amazing place.

A fabulous new year's eve at Ugly Butterfly. A big thank you to everyone who made us so welcome especially our two dogs! The food was amazing and the service impeccable. I just don't know how they do it but every time is better than the last.

Had the 7 course taster menu, absolutely fabulous, probably one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Excellent service too!

Myself and my husband both had the chefs tasting menu which was absolutely delicious. All of the courses were wonderful and the service was just as good. We stayed for some cocktails after which were all amazing as well. Would highly recommend for any special occasion.

Food sensational - creative and packed full of flavour. Service from nick and all the team fabulous. If you have a chance to go then you really should. We’d also eaten at Adam Handling’s pub the tartan fox and commend that equally.
