Excited to try this new restaurant out and it didn’t disappoint. The moment you enter the warm, rich ambience kicks in. This interior is simply stunning and if you’re lucky (we weren’t) you might have a view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. We had a great waitress who made sure we understood each dish, which is nothing like a traditional Thai or Vietnamese restaurant might serve. My wife enjoyed her steamed bass while my shaken beef was absolutely delicious. Also had the chicken satay, which I have to admit was sub par. We’ve been to most of the restaurants owned and operated by Quality Restaurant Group, and Twin Tails is a hit. Definitely recommend.

Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary to justify the high prices. Food was on par with your favorite local Thai spot. Server was not very fluent with the menu and struggled to provide coherent descriptions of dishes. Lovely space but no need to return.

The service left a lot to be desired. Our server never introduced themselves by name and seemed overly attentive at the wrong moments, checking in constantly before we even had a chance to look at the menu. When we asked for recommendations, the descriptions were vague and unhelpful, offering no real insight into flavor or portion size. Basic service details were lacking—water refills had to be requested multiple times, and there was little attention to clearing plates or tidying the table between courses. The wait for dessert and cocktails was noticeably long, and when our soufflé arrived, we had to ask for proper utensils, as my friend only had a knife and chopsticks while I had nothing at all. To top it off, the server dropped the check as soon as dessert arrived, which felt rushed and impersonal. Overall, the experience felt inattentive and disorganized, making it hard to truly enjoy the meal.

The food was truly outstanding, but the service was shockingly poor. My husband and I had the Royal Dorade Shashimi (outstanding), Beef meatballs (excellent), King Crab and Uni buns (very good), and the Cho Lon Duck (outstanding). We finished with the pistachio soufflé (outstanding). The cocktails were also excellent. But service issues started as soon as we arrived. We had an 8 pm reservation, but we were not seated until about 8:30. The host desk did a good job apologizing for the delay and promised to send some appetizers to our table when we were seated. I thought they handled this very well. When we were finally seated, our waitress gave us some good advice and took our order. I thought we were off to a good start, but then our waitress almost entirely disappeared for the rest of our meal. As we were finishing our appetizers, I wanted to add an order of the crab fried rice and the pistachio souffle. We had to place this order with the gentleman who was clearing the table next to us because we couldn’t flag down our waitress. It was also hard to order cocktails because there was no service. At the end of the meal, I reviewed the bill and the restaurant had failed to comp any of the appetizers. I spent a 1/2 hour trying to flag down the waitress to ask about the comps and pay the bill. I eventually gave up waiting for her and found a manager. He said the comps were noted in the computer, but the waitress failed to apply them. But he did not apologize for the poor service or the very long wait to pay.

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. So happy we went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were eight people and we all loved Twin Tails.

Stunning atmosphere, fabulous food and service. Best new restaurant we’ve been to in a while, loved the originality of the menu items. Would definitely return and recommend.
