The salmon was really good, the steak was fine. We were disappointed that we had to wait so long for our server to visit our table to take our order, check on refills, etc. I understand it was a Saturday evening and they were possibly short staffed but we were tired from a day of travel. The live music was good but too loud. We requested to be as far away from it as possible so the hostess walked us to the other side of the restaurant. She may not have known that there were speakers on the wall on that side of the room. It wasn’t terrible at first. When the pianist took a break, they turned on pre-recorded music. It was quieter so after a few minutes, someone turned the volume up. When piano man returned, they didn’t turn the volume back down. We had to finish dining without conversation. Again, he was talented but I prefer to be able to talk during dinner.

Great service very attentive. Food was amazing. I had the sea bass. Crab claws were fresh and tasty i forgot to take pics.

A Stellar Dining Experience at Truluck's – A Must-Visit Culinary Destination I recently had the pleasure of dining at Truluck's on 700 K Street NW, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we were seated, we were warmly welcomed by Connor and Aries, two outstanding servers who enhanced our evening with their attentiveness and professionalism. As a party of two, we carefully reviewed the menu and were drawn to the Shrimp and Scallops but were hesitant about the cauliflower rice accompaniment. My go-to dish, the Rockfish Pontchartrain, is always an excellent choice, but we decided to inquire about substituting the Crab Fried Rice with the Shrimp and Scallops. The restaurant graciously accommodated our request, and I must say, it was an absolute triumph. The meal was flawlessly executed—each ingredient fresh, vibrant, and meticulously prepared. The scallops, in particular, were outstanding, boasting a perfect balance of taste, color, and texture. Every bite was a testament to Truluck's commitment to quality and culinary excellence. From the impeccable service to the outstanding cuisine, our visit was an unforgettable experience. Truluck’s continues to set the standard for fine dining, and I look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended!

We had asked for certain accommodations with the cooking of our food and unfortunately on this visit, these accommodations were not met. Asked for steak to be MW, received medium and even after recook still under. Though this is not the first time we have ordered steak and it was undercooked. Asked for no nuts on salad, unfortunately they came with nuts.

Trulucks always stands out as a gem with both the food and service being impeccable. Like other visits, the staff personally ensured that I had a unique and memorable experience. The chef came by our table as well! 10/10 for food and service
