Went to Truluck’s expecting food that was even somewhat special, especially for some pretty exorbitant prices. We ordered the goat cheese salad and calamari for appetizers, and orders of stuffed lobster/crab and the full ahi tuna. 1. the salad was fine, but the Calamari was so painfully bang average for 21 dollars. They already had sauce on them, yet the sauce that they offered on the side made NO sense (bbq+mayo). The quality of calamari for the price was pretty horrible considering it’s a main entre price. 2. I ordered a full Tuna. I got barely half a filet. I cook tuna VERY often, I was kinda shocked at how bland it was, and who in their right mind would serve an Asian style Ahi with MASHED POTATOES… literally anything else would be better. 3. The lobster crab shebang made no sense which is the biggest crime considering the theming and motif of this restaurant (crab/seafood). The lobster was overcooked, tough and stringy. The Lobster shell was lined with spinach which did nothing. Again, the SAME mashed potatoes as a side, which made more sense here, but as for both dishes this mash was out of the box quality, yet not even fully stirred. Lumpy, and kind of cold, and not textured in the good way (either buttery smooth or with bits of potato skin). 4. The service at this spot is subpar at best. The Waiters are condescending, despite working in a tandem. Our table was asked “you good?” by the wait staff twice. There was no warmth or patience for my parents, who just wanted to understand the menu better. You might want a fine dining experience in Fort Lauderdale. I can not in any good faith recommend Trulucks as a restaurant that can provide this, despite its marquis advertising and shallow decorations. What you will be given is an overpriced and low quality eating experience for a ridiculous price in the dark as none of the lighting works.

Was so excited to hear Truluck’s was back. The decor was beautiful..throughly impressed by the staff! Jeremy our server was top notch !! I love the lighted menus! Service was effortless and fast. Food was superb!!! We left stuffed and happy. We will definitely be back

We went for a Saturday night date night. From the very start, every person we spoke to was friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy. The food from start to finish was amazing. We will definitely return!
