These guests with a 5:15 PM Omakase reservation arrived 25 minutes late without prior notification. Despite the tardiness, we were happy to accommodate them at a coveted semi-private table, a favorite among our returning patrons. Upon being seated, they inquired about the Omakase menu, suggesting unfamiliarity with the concept. They also expressed interest in "pearl" sake, a non-Japanese, commercially produced variety from Oregon, commonly found at local "sushi" restaurants. They also inquired about the inclusion of cooked or fried items in the Omakase, which is traditionally a chef's selection of seasonal, fresh offerings served raw or minimally cooked. It appeared the guests' expectations aligned more with the typical cooked and fried “sushi” options available elsewhere on the island.

La comida es buena porque es fresca, muy bien preparada y muy bien presentada. No demoró mucho. De primero tomamos una miso soup normal, nada en especial ! Luego pedimos una tabla con roles y sashimi, que cómo dije era buena porque estaba fresca. Bebimos un trago de whisky cuyo precio fue ridículo, una vaso cuesta más que una botella! Vayan y coman pero no pidan whisky.

La comida; algo exótica y excéntrica estuvo buena en general. El servicio fue regular; el “mesero” no habla español y su inglés no era muy claro. Nunca supe lo que comía en los platos de presentaciones variadas. Porciones son pequeñas y aunque pedimos varios platos no se llenaron las expectativas. Esta bueno pero no si esperas satisfacer tu apetito. Cuatro personas 600 dólares; suerte con eso.

We ordered a variety of sushi and sashimi and were thoroughly impressed with the quality and variety. We particularly enjoyed the chutoro, otoro, snow crab and the Japanese scallops. Fish temperature and sushi rice were spot on. We also loved the decor. A quiet oasis once you enter from Ashford Ave. To top it off, the service was impeccable - attentive, warm, and professional. This place is a must-visit for sushi lovers!

I felt like I spent $300 for $80 worth of food and service. The biggest issue is the rice. The chef is sincere and nice. But, he doesn’t seem to have necessary know-how to get the rice right, which takes years to master. The rest (ie fish) is just plain average. They brought miso soup at the end. It tasted like literally miso paste you buy at a Japanese grocery store mixed in hot water with some cube tofus. Good thing about this restaurant is, the service was good. They tried hard and we liked it. But, I will not return to this restaurant for $300 Sushi Omakase for two. But, I can come back for a box-bento with 6 piece sushi for $40. For that, I could give 8.5 out of 10.

If you're searching for the most authentic sushi experience in Puerto Rico, Toyosu is the undisputed destination. While we didn't opt for the omakase, we were blown away by their extraordinary selection, over 25 different types of fresh fish for sushi and sashimi. No other restaurant on the island comes close to offering this level of premium Japanese variety. Just take a look at their menu and compare it to anywhere else in P.R. This is the ultimate destination for true Japanese sushi lovers. We will be back!

I cannot recommend this sushi restaurant enough! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The sushi here is simply outstanding—each piece is a perfect balance of fresh, high-quality ingredients and skilled craftsmanship. The service was equally impeccable.
