Short staffed? The restaurant was not busy but staff were never present when needed and on three occasions we had to find somebody to give our order to. I can appreciate when it is not busy you do not want to over staff but please train the staff you have to be attentive to the few customers you have. Otherwise it was OK. Yes I would go back and give it another try.

Appalling environment, shockingly poor food and shouldn’t be classed as a restaurant. Worse than a service station.

No one there. Shame really as food was well presented and perfect. Outerbuilding was as expected a little tired. Interior was a nice surprise. Nice decor. Staff lovely and did all to accomodate. A Sunday roast would have been lovely. Alas they don't do one. Nice standard. Overpriced unfortunately. Maybe this explains the lack of customers.

I do apologise that the lounge may have been a little quiet but generally we are at our busiest Monday-Friday within business hours as we are a very corporate hotel but growth in the restaurant will be our focus in 2025. it's always been a handy place to meet with friends or family who are travelling. The food was fine, it was quiet as a result of it being so shortly after Christmas and New Year

The dining room was so cold that I had to bring my own fan heater. The food was mediocre and overpriced.

I booked a table online for a business meeting but on arrival was told that they don't take bookings. I'd requested somewhere quiet, which the lady did try and find us somewhere. It turned out not to be quiet as two men had a very loud conversation near us. Not the fault of the venue though. Food was ok. It's a very tired place that convenient for meet ups more than anything else.

Appalling car park ,no spaces. Booked the restaurant but on arrival told it wasn't available due to a conference even though our booking was accepted diverted to the lounge bar with a limited menu. Some food which was ordered didn't arrive . When it came to payment and requesting an itemised bill it was apparent that we were being charged for food which we didn't receive in addition to other food never ordered. The bill was made up of ransom meals as the till was not programmed with dishes actually on the menu. All in all Basil Faulty could have done better a real disappointment.

Dear Ray, I apologise there had been confusion with your bill, Anne did explain that the specials are put through the till as open values and did break the bill down for you. She did also apologise that your fries had been forgotten when your food was delivered and again removed this from the bill. I am sorry you didn't enjoy your visit to the hotel and that it was a very busy day with conference., the booth we offered to seat you in was also part of the restaurant so please do not think you had been displaced because of the conference but I apologise there had not been a choice of multiple spaces for you to decide upon at the time. The restaurant experience was very good, the food very hot and fresh and absolutely no complaints. Staff were attentive and polite and asked about our food during the courses. The restaurant is tidy and clean and had it not been dark, we would have had a lovely view of the Ribble from our booth.

We attended at the correct time, five staff at the bar chatting, I said we’ve booked for a meal, young lady long blonde hair, eyelashes like a tarantula sat on her lids said ok, I then had to ask where we were supposed to sit, she waved with her hand behind her saying, somewhere in there, where I said, anywhere you want I’m not bothered, then she turned back to the bar and ignored us. We walked into the restaurant, six people at a table finishing off. We sat down and after waiting 20 minutes for menus we decided they didn’t want our business so got up to leave. Another member of staff then approached and said do you want a drink, my partner said we needed menus, another five minutes passed and two menus came, we chose our food and waited to place the order for another five minutes. This was now 30 minutes past our booked time to eat and waitress came back and we placed our order, five minutes later she returned saying I forgot to tell you they aren’t available, so we left.
