The White Oak is a contemporary Michelin rated pub and restaurant in the heart of Cookham in Berkshire.

Taking hospitality back to it's roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team, gastronomic experiences showcasing outstanding suppliers and produce but most of all – to enjoy our great quality menu, simply prepared.

The White Oak prides itself on offering a diverse selection of wines, beers, cask ales and ciders. Our carefully selected wine list offers an accessible range of bottles to suit all tastes and dishes and don't worry if you are driving, we have an extensive lo and no alcohol list too.

There is a large garden and terrace which is covered and has heaters, with dining pods for the perfect unique dining experience. There is ample parking and dogs are very welcome in the bar.

Back for another year is Cookham's premier New Year’s Eve experience, Dine and Disco at The White Oak. Throw on your finest attire with a black tie dress code positively encouraged (although not compulsory) and join us as we ring in the New Year in style! If you’d rather skip the dining and head straight to the disco then our Bar Ticket option is for you! Available for £10 per person, including a welcome glass of fizz, then you can just slide over to the dance floor and disco yourself all the way into 2025!

Very disappointing visit compared to previous visits before the change in management (which we hadn't been aware of). Very slow service and not advised of lack of specials menu choices until we ordered our food nearly an hour after we arrived. Steaks were OK but the peppercorn sauce was watery and the chips weren't well cooked. The dessert came in a reasonable time but the sticky toffee pudding wasn't hot (almost cold in the middle) and the sauce was very thin/watery. The food prices were high - as they had been under the previous management - but this was no longer 'fine dining' with good service and didn't merit those prices at all. We won't be coming again.

The service and the meal were superb! The restaurant was very quiet with only a handful of tables for brunch. Staff very attentive and the oysters were excellent.

A gem of a gastropub. Considering the number of great dining options in the neighbourhood, The White Oak really stands out. Fantastic food: quality and selection was first rate. Excellent friendly service. Good ambiance. Will definitely return. Family and dog friendly.

Amazing food at The White Oak, a nicely refurnished pub, only lacking a roaring fire on a freezing cold night. The main fish fish was sublime and the chocolate mousse was perfectly balanced and flavoured. Really friendly and attentive service topped it off; we’ll definitely be back!

The service really let down our lunch today. We never received our starters and there was no apology about this. The staff were just not on the ball. The mains were ok. There were a few cold elements which should have been warm to accompany hot food. Overall very average.
