The Watermans Richmond is an all day Restaurant and Bar in the centre of town, conveniently located on an ancient cobbled street that leads down to the waterfront.

Our food is the best of British ingredients, served with a nod to southern Europe, with favourite dishes ranging from scallop ravioli to fregola, veal chops and day boat fish. We also have vegetarian and vegan options as well as delicious puddings including tiramisu, poached pears and profiteroles.

We have been the site of a Public house for centuries and still offer a selection of draught beers however we have an extensive wine list focusing mostly on classic wines from Europe.

The Restaurant is divided into several areas: luxurious deep leather banquette seating, bar counters perfect for lunches and more casual dining and cosy fireside dining in our upstairs room.

We also have two outside areas, a perfect spot for a drink or bite whilst watching the world go by.

We have three private areas that can seat up to 18 in each, or more for standing events. One is upstairs and can be used for meetings and dinners, has a fireplace and is very cosy. The second is downstairs and is our garden room, perfect for canape or drinks parties. The third is our outside dining area, set to the side of the premises and can be used for lunches, dinners, and again canape and drinks parties. We are located 100 yards from the main bus station in Richmond. The District Line terminates at Richmond station and there are many overground options from Twickenham and Clapham to name but a few. On Twickenham rugby days many ticket holders elect to have lunch in Richmond and walk to the game as it takes only 20 minutes.

A lovely restaurant with great choice and quality of food. Service is excellent too. Best restaurant in Richmond in my view.

Great place for Sunday lunch. Absolutely delicious and dog friendly too. Loved the tablecloths- increasingly rare these days and such a nice touch. Highly recommended

After a long period of not being able to go out, we decided to visit Richmond. We searched for a nice restaurant with good reviews and ultimately chose The Watermans. We had dinner there and felt extremely uncomfortable with the way the staff continuously tried to clear our table before we had finished our meal. Every 5 minutes, they would inquire, "Have you finished?" This constant pressure made us feel rushed, and as a result, we left our food unfinished, including both the starters and the main course. Our dinner reservation was for 7:30 pm, giving us ample time until the closing time of 11 pm. We were very disappointed with the experience and have no intentions of returning there.

My new favourite restaurant in Richmond, never failed to disappoint. Food was superb, cocktails lovely, and there’s a great wine list with plenty by the glass to choose from as well as bottles. Service is wonderful, friendly, happy, helpful, and always there when needed, perfect! Thank you!

It was with the greatest of pleasure eating here, a last minute décision as to where to go not knowing the local area. Food was excellent alongside the service and the ambiance. We would highly recommend dining here. Great service with à smile, always nice to see a young team who are keen to please. Thank you all, keep up the hard work.
