The Standard. One of Hamilton's most revered restaurants, has laid down its roots on James St N. With our everchanging menu, seasonal & local inspiration and forward approach to dining, our commitment to excellence shows in everything we do. We strive to provide a memorable experience each day, it is just what we love to do.

From our in house butchery or cooking over charcoal, to working with local suppliers in our community We challenge the way we all think about Food & Drink.

If its a night out with friends, an intimate dinner for two, or just something extraordinary like sitting at our chefs table, We take each day as a new challenge to provide something amazing. It’s a bold statement and that’s why we make it with The Standard.

The Chef's table is a 7-course, exclusive blind Tasting Menu, composed of the best of the season. These are ring side seats right in front of the Kitchen where you will get to see and experience the stress, pressure and rapid fire execution of how a fast-paced restaurant engine runs. This is not for the faint-hearted, your experience will give you a front row seat to how it all goes down. Strap in, it's going to be a hell of a ride. Elevate your experience with pairings from our reserve wine list or a mixology pairing form our bar team. Please note that we are unable to accommodate vegetarian, dairy/egg allergies, seafood allergies or aversions to raw meat/seafood. The server wouldn't accommodate a request to adjust the cooking level for someone who doesn't enjoy medium-rare food. It's quite disappointing. I understand it's a New Year's menu, but this kind of flexibility should still be offered. This reason alone is why we will not go back again.

Great Great place! We went out for a double date and all enjoyed the food, ambience during the holidays. They had a featured bar and kitchen view from the seating. It was a cool spot in hamilton. The food was delicious, everything that came out was very well made. My fav was the oyster bar! But everyone else liked everything, like the calamari, dumplings, sourdough focaccia and steak!

A wonderful dinner menu and everything is thoughtfully put together. Service was excellent and Ryan made excellent recommendations to help us decide. We found the price point to be very reasonable. As well, parking is right next door to the restaurant. Well worth the visit

Great dinner - the food was so delicious and the portions are huge. Service was exceptional, and the ambiance in the restaurant was lovely. Can’t wait to come back!

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. Had a first date here, and the atmosphere, along with the service, and food made it a memorable one. Will definitely come back for the anniversary if i don't mess it up haha
