With a surname that means “fisherman’, Fons de Visscher opened his first fish shop in Helmond in 1984, beloved by locals from afar. The first Seafood Bar he opened in 2012 on the Van Baerlestraat, Amsterdam, which along with his son and daughter grew into an iconic fish restaurant known for its long lines.

This was a great restaurant for fresh seafood that was close to our hotel. When you enter the restaurant you can see all the fresh seafood on ice behind the glass. Behind the seafood was the kitchen where you can see all the amazing chefs cooking. The service was great and was very large portions and you don't go away hungry. We got the fresh seafood mix that included shrimp, mussels, clams, snails and other great items. Overall it was a great location and would visit again the next time I am in town. Next time I will try the fried seafood which also looked amazing.

Everything was Excellent, The Food, The Service, The Envieoment. Inés was more than helpfull On our visit. One of the best Seafood Rest in Amsterdam

We made reservations. When we showed up ,discovered that we were in the other location, we were lucky and they were accommodating finding us a table there. Food was fabulous and plentiful, staff ,friendly Great service. Was busy and a little noisy, I would certainly return .

Great location for the restaurant and service was also very good. Food was ok - the best part were the fresh Oysters.

Great place for fresh seafood, platters are well done, seafood is very good, reasonably priced , well prepared. Wonderful friendly service.

Excellent place for great seafood! The location is beautiful and eating there is a treat itself. Been to other locations and I think that this must be one of my favorites.

Grilled octopus was wonderful; tender and well seasoned. The grilled fish portion for one easily accommodated two. Asparagus and smashed potatoes were a great addition! All in all a great meal.

Got a reservation for an early dinner and the restaurant wasn’t very busy at all. So when our very expensive “fruits de mar” came out and had very raw lobster on it we were very surprised. Because how can a raw lobster that’s already been cut in half and displayed on ice be overlooked when they aren’t busy. When we asked about it, the topic was kinda dismissed as they put all the lobsters in the “oven”. Later it was quickly whisked away and returned piping hot from the oven. We had to ask to even receive a discount for serving us uneatable food.
