    Lunch at The Royal in the dining room during Countylicious was everything I expected it to be. Top-notch quality service and food to match. Each dish was full of flavour and satisfying on top of which the portions were not scaled back for this food event. Whether there is a special promotion going on or not, you can always count on The Royal to deliver a premium experience.

    The food was outstanding. We booked on The Royal website via Open Table and booked for the dining room. When we arrived we were told there was a private function and that our table was in the bar section. The gentleman who greeted us was Paul Hardy and he was not welcoming. Our table was still occupied and Paul did not invite us to sit at the bar while we waited. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm and we were only seated 10 -15 minutes later. Never once an apology. We were served by many different people, service was prompt but luke warm. We were celebrating a birthday and had a great evening, but never felt welcomed by Paul Hardy or the team.

    Incredible establishment with incredible staff who went above and beyond of what was required of them. We will definitely be back for a just because meal Thanks to them and their staff for a wonderful evening with friends.

    Dinner for 3 consisting of Steak Frites and Duck Confit: we were all pleased with our choices as the steak & duck were done to perfection and the flavours were outstanding. Dessert consisted of the Chocolate cake, which was decadent and generous, the Sorbet, which was light and fruity, but the dessert star was the Panna Cotta. Our reservation was for 6pm which was a good time as it was not busy and we received the undivided attention of the pleasant staff. We have been to this restaurant 2x previously and will plan to go again when visiting the area as it is always a positive experience.

    My girlfriends and I came for Brunch to celebrate our birthdays. From the front desk attendant who guided us to find the restaurant, to the host, to the servers and people who seemed to be floating around making sure everything was going well - we felt so cared for (without it being overbearing or "too much"). Our food was absolutely fantastic, and the space is so lovely. We will definitely be back!

    We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Royal. We love the energy at the place. Our meatball dish was delicious. And our trout was perfectly done. The service is so good and everyone works hard. It’s a pleasure to to watch. We will return. We were up for three days for a break from all the snow in Owen Sound.
