We visited at Christmas. The room was decorated well and the hotel generally was lovely. Food delicious and attentive, not over the top service. A nice easy meal in a quality restaurant/hotel

We visited for afternoon tea. The food was wonderful and the service outstanding. With endless refills of tea food it was an amazing experience.

Absolutely stunning food & ambience. The staff at the bar were very attentive, though we didn't really appreciate a £10 service charge for a bottle of champagne we bought at the bar to take away...that was a bit cheeky! However, we still think we would like to return, & maybe stay over rather than just have a meal.

Second time visiting the Rise restaurant. Outstanding service and the food was excellent . We will definitely visit again in the near future. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.

We ordered a halal afternoon tea in advance which turned out to be a vegetarian afternoon tea. This would have been fine however we felt that the vegetarian options were not at all comparable to the standard afternoon tea in quality. There were no sandwiches and instead we were offered “open” sandwiches which consisted of an array of unseasoned cold vegetables that had clearly been left uncovered as they tasted of the fridge. The desserts on offer were also very different to the ones on the menu and as we looked around, we were not offered the same quantity as other diners. Although the service was good we were left very disappointed with our experience, especially after travelling over an hour and spending nearly £90 for two. A birthday celebration ruined would not recommend.
