                                                                Food was amazing, waiter didn’t take notes of the order so items were missed off and had to wait for them. Otherwise wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

                                                                The food was Ok - not enough choices. It’s the service that was terrible. You can tell this place relies heavily on its beautiful building and location. All hype, not enough substance. The least friendly staff as well. We were staying at the hotel and thought we would give the place a try but will not be returning back. It was too loud as well with music from the bar blasting. You could barely hear each other talk!

                                                                Delicious Sunday roasts for me & my teenagers. Large portions & tasty. Live music great but on the verge of too loud to have easy conversation. Service of food was quick but it was difficult to flag a server down to settle the bill. There were a few wandering around but they didn't seem very focused. We noticed this on our last visit as well so it now gets included in the review.

                                                                We had the most disappointing experience So many things went wrong some cold food some starters didn’t appear at all some mains didn’t appear at all one main came before the starter. The waitress took one persons drink order & ran off before any others could be given on two occasions. We complained & spoke to a supervisor but still the issues continued, we spoke to the manager but still the issues continued the hot desserts were cold. The manager apologised & reduced the bill but unfortunately it was an evening spoilt. The lady who showed us to our table & the lovely waitress from Harrogate who wasn’t serving us but tried to help were both lovely and a credit the Refuge you need them to train your other staff. Really we should had the entire bill taken off it was that disappointing.

                                                                Absolutely appalling. The food came out before the drinks! Obviously been microwaved. Awful service…no one came near. It was very quiet in the restaurant and now I know why. ‘Small plates’? Not even proper tapas… just an excuse to charge people extra for each part of what would be a normal meal. Completely embarrassing.
