The Rathskeller is one of King’s Lynn finest restaurants. We pride ourselves on providing all customers with a fantastic and unique experience. We believe that great food and service should be available to all, not just those fortunate enough to pay the highest prices. Our intimate dining room provides a great atmosphere for making occasions extra special.

We believe that every single one of our guests deserves our utmost attention and we will do everything we can to ensure that your experience with us is extra special. Our ability to do this does not represent what we do as a restaurant but who we are as people.

We made a booking at this restaurant and were there on time on a Saturday afternoon to find to our pleasant ...not...surprise that the restaurant does not offer lunch anymore. They were blissfully unaware on the booking reservation. It was deserted when I entered the place and the lady at the counter said she can't access their emails anymore.

The menu was full of promise. Despite an extremely plain box restaurant with no ambiance we decided to continue. The starters were passable (calamari and duck rillette) but the main courses were extremely poor, overcooked veg, overcooked hake and haddock fish cake, coq au vin just didn't taste nice at all. Both were sent back and we decided to leave. However, the waitress was excellent, really helpful and apologetic and the restaurant didn't charge us for the mains. Hopefully the cooking was a one off but the restaurant is in desperate need of an interior designer.

Food was good and well presented, service was reasonably fast. However, it seemed the kitchen couldn't keep up with the demand. The interior of the restaurant was clean and well-spaced; however, the walls could do with some art work as it's a bit devoid of personality.

Super place. Nice little beer garden on the quayside. Food was great, staff were fantastic. Blessed by some evening sun it was the perfect place for some dinner!

Food was good and service brilliant. Ambiance was a bit lacking and only one shared toilet - but early days since reopening since lockdown.

The food was inedible. The jerk chicken was extremely overcooked and the chilli was very salty, also inedible.

Service was slow despite there being very few diners in. Supposed hot starter of baked St Michelin cheese was stone cold- got sent back - waitress did deduct £5 from bill but obviously this meant that diners were eating starters at different times so not good for the general vibe or ambience. Portions were quite small. Flavours were quite nice albeit too salty - disappointed and would not return.
