   Not an actual fine dining experience. Lackluster food, inexperienced (young and obviously new) wait staff. Everyone was friendly, but this is not the kind of experience that the website boasted.

   Karen and I had reservations for 7 pm. We arrived early around 6 pm and we were immediately seated at the table of our choice. We did not wait long for anything. Our waiter Joseph was polite, informative, friendly, and happy to serve us. I ordered the 4 Season A5 Wagyu and Karen ordered the Jaeger-Schnitzel. Karen loved her meal, and I really liked mine. Owner/Chef Shri explained to me that there are five different levels of Wagyu steak, and A5 is the lowest. That explains why I found it a little chewy, more than any Wagyu I have ever eaten. The taste was outstanding, and the sauces on the plate were tasty. I enjoyed my meal with Stella Artois from the glycol chilled tap. After our meal, we went outside and enjoyed drinks in the near perfect temperature of a slight breeze on the porch. The lights of Adriatica brightened as the sun set and the moon rose over the lake. A distant thunderstorm quietly passed north of us with a light show of setting sun on the clouds and the veiled flash of soft lightening.

   I had high expectations for dinner at The Quay in Adriattica, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. From the start, it took over 15 minutes to receive any water after being seated. We were presented with the tasting menu along with the drink list, but then left alone for another 15 minutes before even getting a glass of water. When the waiter finally arrived, we were told we needed to specifically ask for a menu to see all the options, which felt like an unnecessary oversight. I ordered the sea bass, which was served submerged in a thick, heavy brown gravy. The flavor of the fish was completely lost in the overwhelming sauce, which made the dish more about the gravy than the seafood itself. On the positive side, the French martini was absolutely delicious, and it was the highlight of the meal. Overall, while the atmosphere was nice, the service and food quality didn’t live up to the price point. I’m not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon.

   Never know what to expect when you head into a new restaurant! But this place amazed us at on every point. The decor is amazing, the staff was really friendly and helpful, and the food was exceptional! Probably the best we've ever had in McKinney Texas. If you're trying to find a new place with a new approach on food don't pass this place up.

   Quay was a wonderful experience. So glad to have such a great restaurant like this in our neighborhood. Our dinner experience was perfect start to finish! The ambiance, the service and the food were outstanding. We started with the spring rolls and beet chevre and then moved onto the seabass and jaeger schnitzel. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the sauces were truly delicious and complementary. We cannot wait to go again. This is a new restaurant but I predict will be a fan favorite especially since it is on the water in Adriatica once the weather warms.

   Overall a phenomenal meal. The service was impeccable. We had the non-vegetarian tasting menu and each dish was fantastic. The dessert was huge. When I made the reservation I was surprised they were open for lunch for a tasting menu. That’s rare. Turns out they were debating on opening for lunch and were not going to but we were the first reservation that was made and they didn’t want to disappoint us. So they basically opened just for us. Totally unnecessary (we would have come for dinner) but very much appreciated. Shows you what the service is like. We plan to go back for the vegetarian tasting menu as the vegetables on every dish were amazing.
