The Puffing Billy is located in the beautiful village of Exton on the east side of the Exe estuary.

We offer a dynamic, seasonal menu of locally sourced produce inside a cosy, recently revamped stylish interior. We change our menus regularly and have a daily changing specials board utilising local produce. On Sundays we offer a superb selection of roast dinners.

Service was mixed as not welcomed on arrival and ignored for a timr. Young waiters more attentive regular customers welcomed noisily ,guests ignored.. Food ok. but not brilliant, lack of flavour for the price, Yorkshire pudding cold! Sticky table as most restaurants today, why?

The quality of the ingredients, presentation and taste were great but the food felt a bit pricey for what it was and the swordfish didn’t come with any carbs. Other than that the ambience and the service were fantastic.

Hi, I would love to have given 5 stars for everything but unfortunately can’t, it would have been nice to have been advised there was a big party in where we were seated as throughout our time there we could hardly hear each other talk over the large party on the other tables. Maybe in future you could inform visitors of this.

Easy parking although very busy, good ambience on entry, bar staff attentive, table was ready and set well. The menu was comprehensive but not overwhelming with a really good choice, wine list good but with the usual ridiculous mark up prices. Food was excellent, presented well and cooked to perfection, memorable. Highly recommended.

Great pub with a variety of settings to eat at. We were in the slightly more formal resteraunt area but it was still relaxed and comfortable. We were a party of 7 but well attended, not rushed but not left waiting. Menu was extensive and catered for everyone and the food was all up to expectations. Highly recommend!

An enjoyable meal in a nice village pub. A few items in the menu had sold out but we enjoyed the food and ambience.

Whitebait was really fresh and cooked well, prawn cocktail was well presented though on a plate instead of the normal served dish Tune was cooked to perfection, tuna can be very dry if overcooked this was perfect
