   Been to this facility previously, am always happy that you get what requested. Yesterday, was no different, and even although packed out (Mothers Day) the staff went the extra to ensure customers were happy and had good experience.

   We visited on Mothering Sunday and it was as good as ever. Carvery was excellent and the service is always great.

   Booked a table for Sunday lunch whilst on holiday in the area. Communication re booking, including confirmation 24hrs before was extremely good. Warm, friendly welcome on arrival, and promptly shown to our table, located in a perfect quiet corner. After a few minutes we were presented with menus and our drinks orders were taken. An excellent choice of dishes was available to suit all tastes, ages and diets. We opted for a traditional Sunday carvery and we are so glad we did. There was a good choice of roasts which were generously sliced to order - turkey, beef, pork, gammon - all of which appeared to be good cuts of meat and cooked so they were juicy and tender. We were also served an accompanying chipolata. The vegetable selection consisted of baked cauliflower and broccoli cheese, red cabbage, spring cabbage, mashed swede and carrots, peas, carrots, and roasted parsnips...cooked to perfection. Then of course there was the home cooked fluffy Yorkshire Puddings and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside roast potatoes. Rounded off with home made gravy and a range of condiments. All of which was presented in an appetising way...and did not disappoint on the taste front in any way. An absolutely first class carvery, which did not disappoint on any level. What a pity all establishment who offer this are not in the same league as 'The Plough'...congratulations on this high standard and quality. Finally....the dessert menu. Well it would be rude not to partake, when the first course was so exemplary. Again there was a good choice for all tastes, and to be honest the decision wasn't easy as there was so much temptation...but in the end my husband opted for the 4 layer warm fudge cake and whippy icecream and I choose the waffle with biscoffi sauce, milk chocolate sauce, brownie pieces, double decker pieces and whippy icecream. Decadent and indulgent is the only way to describe both. Service overall was efficient and the input of the manager did not go unnoticed.

   We booked a table for 6pm and didnt leave until 9.30. The meal was lovely and very good value, however there was not enough staff for the amount of people. We waited 20 25 mins after ordering a dessert. The service was very slow.

   My brother and I took our mum out for an early Mother’s Day lunch, food was great, as was the service. Never been in before, and thought we’d give it a try. The Whippy ice cream for dessert was a fav between us all, Will definitely be revisiting.

   We found that the mashed potato was a bit heavy going and the gravy was needed to soften it, also the broccoli was hard. Otherwise the rest of the meal was great. The deserts were fabulous.

   A very welcoming place to eat. We arrived on time but unfortunately our table was overrunning but with a little shuffling around they accommodate is. Sunday roast, you can't go wrong, tastey.

    Had a lovely meal the pork was a bit chewy but having spoke to the owner, he immediately put it right by replacing it with turkey which was delicious. Atmosphere was great everyone friendly. 10/10
