At age the of 20, Chef Rafael moved with his wife to Cleveland, Ohio. His goal was to continue his Italian culinary skills which he acquired in the region of Verona, Italy.
Chef Rafael was introduced to the restaurant industry at a very young age. His grandmother was very well known for her home-cooked dishes. She loved having her grandson with her as she cooked meals as soon as he was able to walk. He was six years old when he first learned how to make homemade pasta and, by age 14, he was ready to embark on his own culinary journey. His first stop was Verona, Italy,which was the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The romantic and rich architectural heritage of Verona was matched by the great culinary venues of that city and Chef Rafael's experience and skills grew exponentially. Three years later, Chef Rafael traveled to Belgium and France where he then experienced cooking French cuisine as well.

Average Italian eatery. Decent food but not exceptional. Bread was good, my arugula salad was good, husband’s Caesar salad was overdressed. His bucatini bolognese was good, my veal saltimbocca was ok but served with so-so mashed potatoes and overcooked green beans.

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about the Palazzo! We arrived in town late and made a last minute reservation based on a recommendation from my foodie dad. They did not rush us even as were a late reservation. The food was fantastic. The service equally as good. Homemade upscale Italian at its finest at a reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

If your looking for a wonderful dining experience and love Italian food, this is your place on the Westside of Cleveland. Chef and staff very friendly, food is wonderful!!!!

Great spot in a CLE west side neighborhood. Good parking close to rapid station. It is very easy to enjoy from downtown. Tastefully appointed bar and dining room. Bartender and wait staff are seasoned professionals, friendly and attentive. The talented Chef and kitchen staff prepare nightly specials which accompany their outstanding menu. I and our guests have tried many appetizers, specials and mains. All delicious, showcasing the European and family recipe flair. Be sure to save room for guilt free desserts, lol. Nice wine list and full bar. A true gem that we in the know, visit often. For Clevelander’s who don't, make a reservation and experience an enjoyable evening for yourselves. I promise you will go back and back and back again......

We thought the food was very well prepared, with fresh, high quality ingredients. But unfortunately, the wine did not match the quality of the food. One would expect wine with character (terroir) at an Italian restaurant of such quality, but the two Italian wines we had were ordinary.
