Samuel Squires, our award winning Head Chef at The Old Crown Coaching Inn, has devised a range of menus for the hotel where you can enjoy three different types of cuisines and atmospheres in our restaurant, wine bar & public bar area.

To the rear of the hotel, you will find our 80 seater restaurant. Where you can enjoy terrific food carefully crafted with an innovative twist on fine dining.

Our Wine & Cocktail bar at the heart of The Crown offers a range of fine wines, cocktails and sharing platters, such as our charcuterie boards.

Finally, our main bar offers a more relaxed experience where you can enjoy a delicious meal off our pub menu.

We had a wonderful roast dinner. The staff were very good but the room acoustics were not good at all.

What a gorgeous place, as soon as we walked in the staff were attentive and welcoming. We were seated and asked for an extra table setting as we had a late joiner, without hesitation they set an extra place. Drinks order was taken swiftly and drinks came in very good time, the atmosphere was very calm with moderate chatter in the background. We all ordered a Sunday roast and it is quite possibly the best roast dinner I have ever had in Oxfordshire, absolutely delicious! It was rather pricey but worth every penny. We will most definitely be back. Outstanding!

Absolutely fantastic experience at The Old Crown Coaching Inn! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We started off in JJ's cocktail bar and had pre-dinner cocktail off their extensive and interesting cocktail list. I went for the cocktail the barman said was their best, a mojito. Oh my! It was superb. No soda, just rum but the balance of flavours made that genuinely the best mojito I have ever had. We dined in the restaurant and were blown away by the quality of the food – every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was warm and inviting, and the waitress played piano in the background made the evening even more special. The rooms were comfortable and full of character, making our stay truly memorable. I can’t recommend this place enough – a hidden gem in Faringdon! After finishing dinner, we were told (though we could not hear it in the Ballroom or JJ's that they had live music on in their Crown Bar. We ventured down after dinner and listened to an amazing musician. We met a few locals and had a good dance. A big thank you to team who made our anniversary so special. We stayed in The Courtroom and had a terrific night stay. In the morning we had breakfast in the Ballroom and again, quality shines through. The waiter mentioned the important of provenance in their food, and you sure can see it. A must visit. Well done Crown, you know how to put on a great weekend. We will be back time and time again.

the service was willing but not expert. The food was over fussy and frankly rather pretentious; every dish had too many ingredients. The decor of the 'ballroom' is unfortunate and the ambience of the room was poor.

Our team works hard to maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, and it's worth noting that our 2AA Rosettes and the title of Best Restaurant in Oxford are a reflection of the quality and experience we strive to deliver. Regarding your comments on the food, our chefs are passionate about creating innovative dishes using the best ingredients, and while we understand that tastes vary, our menu is designed to offer a carefully curated balance of flavours. We went for lunch and ate in the main bar, nice area and not crammed in. Fish and chips were on the menu, the chips, tartar sauce and peas were great but the star of the show wasn’t, clearly mass produced no crisp beer batter as expected and for £20 a real let down. Not one to go back to for us anyway

We always strive for high quality in every dish we serve, and it's disappointing to hear that the fish wasn't up to our usual standards. We certainly use fresh Cod from Brixham, certainly not mass produced. Your comments are really helpful, and we’ll certainly review this with the kitchen team to ensure we’re consistently delivering the best.

For my birthday we traveled to Faringdon, Oxon and stayed in the Old Crown Coaching Inn, which was excellent. We had cocktails in the cocktail bar and then had dinner in the restaurant. We chose the steak and triple cooked chips with peppercorn sauce, (I had the blue cheese sauce), it was fantastic. There was also a piano playing which made it extra special. This is a special venue and must not be missed.
