At Matterhorn Restaurant & Bakery we showcase the magical experience of Swiss on-mountain dining, whether it’s après-ski, après-work, or après-all day.

Our restaurant focuses on authentic alpine cuisine, thoughtfully sourced and lovingly served in a setting inspired by the mountain "Stüblis" of the Alps. The menu is anchored by the Swiss classics of Fondue and Raclette - but features other typical fare highlighting various alpine regions.

Beer, wine and beverage offerings are designed to feature classic and fun pairings from Old and New World alike.

The Matterhorn has been a San Francisco institution, and we're proud to bring a fresh new chapter to its iconic story. As our guest it's an honor to have you at the story's center!

Food was very disappointing. It's been almost 30 years since I've been there and I honestly could not remember what the food was like. The cheese was very pungent. We ordered the beef and it was very gamey. The cold cuts we're good but they barely put anything on the plate. The pork schnitzel was probably the best food item. Very overpriced. The service was very slow. I had to remind the waiter twice for our drinks and at the end the kids wanted some fondue tower and it says it could feed up to four people which is a total lie. Maybe two small children. The ambiance is very nice. The scenery is very nice but the food is less than desirable. I was very disappointed. We won't never go back

We were there for our granddaughters 18th birthday. She loved the experience. We all enjoyed the food and the service was great! She was surprised by the birthday greeting at the end and we were very appreciative of that👍

Amazing first time here, we got seated in the gondola which was extra special, the food was amazing and great drink options !

The atmosphere is Alpine comfortable and the fondue and schnitzel were home-cooked delicious. We wanted something different and tasty in the City and were glad to find this place.

It's a very unique experience! The Matterhorn is one of those places that immerses you into a stylized experience, with inviting aromas, gentle lighting, perfect dinner music and a wonderful ambiance. The cheeses were delicious and it was so much fun sharing them at the table and chatting about them. I would definitely come back!

Just love this place!! A little slice of Switzerland in SF. Great fondue. Attentive service. So fun!! Can’t wait to go again soon.

Very unique dining experience but was not really a fan of any of the cheese fondue but my wife loved it so that’s what matters! The filet was amazing but I wish I could order it without rosemary rub which was overpowering. The s’mores fondue was incredible!
