The Mash Inn is an 18th-century pub and restaurant with rooms in the hamlet of Bennett end, Buckinghamshire. Our small restaurant features an open kitchen where we cook the best of British ingredients skillfully but simply over a bespoke wood-fired grill, and we change the menu daily to reflect the seasons, often using ingredients from our own kitchen garden. We have five ensuite bedrooms available for overnight stays, making us the perfect venue for a short trip out of London. The restaurant is not suitable for under 16s.

We booked to have a Sunday roast at The Mash Inn for my birthday, everything was wonderful apart from we got a little unlucky with our table. My boyfriend had to spend the afternoon sat next to the toilet and staring at the back of the room at a curtain. Whilst all other tables and guests had views of the panoramic countryside. He wasn't bothered but I thought it was a bit of a shame.

What a great discovery We were very warmly greeted and shown the fantastic kitchens before being shown to our table. The food was spectacular and service was excellent- We will be back Thank you

An absolute treat. We had a wonderful meal. It is the 4th time we've been and this was the best.

Marvellous lunch. Roaring fire in the snug bar for a drink Was able to look out over the glorious Chiltern Hills as we dined Venison pie main course was epic.

Altogether delightful lunch. Staff full of passion for what they did. Food couldn't be faulted. Interesting and affordable selection of wines.

Tucked away but well worth seeking out - Lovely setting and atmosphere with open kitchen, cosy bar area and tasteful furnishings. The set lunch is great value with friendly and efficient service - highly recommend!

We arrived not knowing much about the Mash as we hadn't read up about it which in hindsight was probably not a good idea. Having only the choice of 2 fixed menus was a surprise. The waiter was great and knowledgeable about the wines and generous with tasting, but the price of a 125ml glass we felt was high. Some of the food was a bit too interesting rather than straightforward, but very nicely presented and a majority delicious. The staff were professional and the ambience good and it was busy. Overall we enjoyed the experience but were surprised at the cost and whilst we should have known what we were getting into, if we had felt that it was faultless we wouldn't have minded.

Delicious tasting menu with so many inventive and flavourful small dishes, often smoked/seared and with Asian notes. Superb standard of ingredients (especially top notch fish and vegetables). Terrific value for food that is easily Michelin star quality, yet in a charming and unflashy pub. Friendly efficient service and good wine list. What’s not to like?
