   My friend and I have chosen the Littleton Arms as our place to meet for years. We like the atmosphere and the food has always been really good. Last night, however, firstly we were disappointed to see that the prices have been increased by quite a significant amount. This is perhaps to be expected, so the hope is the food is still worth the money. It wasn't. We ordered an olive sharer and breads to start. The olives looked like they had just been emptied from a supermarket can into the bowl. No dressing, no herbs, no cocktail sticks to use. The breads were ok. None of it very special, I could have made it nicer at home. I ordered the haddock and chips for main. The fish was awful. It had clumps of red in the batter, which the waitress said was some kind of spice, but it made it look really unappealing. Then the batter was like a cake, mushy, wet, spongy, just awful. I sent it back. They did kindly bring me a whole new meal. The whole thing looked downsized. The chips were soft. Needless to say I didn't eat much of it. My friend had a steak, and at close to £25 we expected a much nicer meal. Putting food in buckets doesn't make it look nice or more appetising!! Who puts boiled potatoes in a bucket?! It certainly was not a great steak meal. Its a shame, but we will be meeting somewhere else next time.

   Lovely pub and staff, unfortunately the£24 steak meal for one of our party was so fatty she couldn’t cut it. We were offered a replacement but as is always the case, you end up eating alone when it eventually arrives so we asked for it to be removed from the bill. Shame really

   Had lunch here with my 3 children and an old colleague. Staff were really accommodating as one of my children wanted the bar snack menu instead and the staff were really friendly.

   Booked for normal menu, when arived only reduced valentines menu was avalible, the ordered, after a while staff member cam back and told me only one fillet stake so my partner said she would have sirloin as replacmemt at reduced cost, order medium, came out blue, asked for a replacment, they put her part eaten stake back on the grill and put it in the plate and brought it back still underdone, i said this was unacceptable, they then told me they had run out of sirloin so they could do rump, we agreed, by this point i had eaten my food. We came out for a romantic valentines meal together yet we ended up eating septate and stressed out. They did take her meal off the bill but it still ruined our valentines day a bit as we'd been at work all day so this was our little treat. Also felt the staff felt inconvenienced because we complained even though i was quite polite about the situation. Only person with good customer service was who I imagine was the manager, she was the one that rectified it.

   Falsely advertised as being able to have the normal menu and the valentines. We arrived and could only have valentines, 4 tables around us also complained about this. You then ran out of the steak meaning there was only 1 meat option available for main. Both meat mains were beef/ox. This should have not been advertised as “alongside all your favourite dishes” as it was not and was a huge disappointment. My starter also had to be redone as it was cold.

   Had a lovely evening for valentine's the live singer was a great touch and the flower arch entrance and decorated tables were beautiful. Fantastic food and service!

   Excellent all round. Very cosy atmosphere and we weren’t rushed even though we ended up staying for almost 3 hours! Only one comment - please serve the hot drinks hotter!

   Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday lunch today. Staff attentive and respectful. The only thing I would say is I feel need couple more waiters to speed things up a little.

   Food and wine were excellent, reasonably priced. We had the warm breads as a starter, salmon with mussels and sea bass for mains. Both fish were cooked perfectly. Pleasant surroundings and atmosphere. Only minor gripe was we had to ask for side plates and weren't given a receptacle for the mussel shells. Overall a very good evening. We have eaten at the Littleton several times and will continue to do so.

    Lovely pub and atmosphere and child friendly! The staff were so lovely to our little boy! Food was great - freshly cooked and good choice of wines! Will be back!
