                                                                                                I recently dined at Keg with a group of friends, and while the food and company were enjoyable, the overall experience left much to be desired. Unfortunately, we were seated in a high-traffic area, which made the atmosphere feel chaotic and distracting throughout the evening. The service felt rushed from the start. Our starter cocktails arrived quickly, but we were barely able to savor them before the entrees were brought out—way before we had finished our salads. This timing issue made it hard to relax and truly enjoy the meal. After our main courses, the server didn’t offer to refresh our drinks, and we felt like we were being hurried through the entire dining experience. It’s a shame, because the food was great, but the rushed pace and lack of attention to detail really took away from what could have been a more enjoyable evening. I hope they can improve on the timing and service, as it definitely affects the overall experience.

                                                                                                Food lacked flavour. Ordered ribs. No seasoning, greasy. Small side container of BBQ sauce . Came with fries but ordered mashed instead. Also lacked seasoning. No vegetables at all. Hadn’t been there in awhile. Now I remember why. Disappointing.

                                                                                                Appetizers were excellent, exactly as expected. Server offered extra bread while waiting for appetizers. Steak Oscar was served with limp green beans, not asparagus. I understand asparagus is not in season, but it is a main component of the oscar. Should have been communicated there would be a substitution. Sirloin steak was chewy, but flavourful. Prime rib was good, pretty standard. Burger was nothing special. Presentation was blah. A burger and fries that could have been from the burger joint down the road. I get it, this is a steak house, so don't expect the burger to be stellar. But for the price, a little thought in the presentation would be nice. My biggest complaint was that the steak was not as expected. This is a steakhouse, so that dish should be perfect. I did not mention to the server. The meal overall was good enough. I paid my bill an left a nice tip for the server (who was great) I feel if your going to eat out, you are taking a gamble with how the dishes will be. Just a little disappointed that a restaurant that should be serving be high quality, nearly perfect steak, failed to deliver. A smaller restaurant I may have said something, as they might take into consideration. The Keg should not be making up for a less than stellar meal by taking a few dollars off the bill, they should have things streamlined so this isn't an issue to begin with.

Very loud groups in the restaurant made the ambiance hard to enjoy unfortunately. Very unusual for the keg, but still a great dinner to celebrate our daughter’s birthday!
